I was wondering if I should use it since it is triple my internet connection speed.

I know I should use my own if I want to input private information or whatever but can I use the unsecure connection to download stuff?

It's illegal to use someone else's wireless network without their permission. My guess is that they're going to secure it pretty fast if you're maxing out their connection by downloading things.

Then again, maybe they're trying to steal your information over an unsecure network?

Well, although it is Illegal I have done it many of times when I didn't have internet and alot of my buddies do it also. You could kind of think of it like...Wifi but it would still be someone elses connection. It could also be a local business and im sure nobody would notice if you were connected as long as you didn't go download crazy.
