I also enjoyed Lost Planet. I wish the online was more populated, it brings a different kind of gameplay then most shooters online.

Is this really going to happen?

I hold the same standards with video games and comic books alike: I lose my interest when universes collide. It's not creative by any means. I imagine this game wouldn't be so much a fusion but rather gears of war 2 with Lost Planet characters or vice versa.
Loved Lost Planet, Loved Gears Of War, but I will refuse to play this.

The only thing Capcom messed up on with Lost Planet was releasing the MUCH BETTER version way too late. Look at how soon Super Street Fighter 4 is coming out. Now compare that to Lost Planet Colonies Edition which features an all new Alien (forget their names) vs. Human mode. It's very unfortunate that there are not enough players online to actually enjoy this new mode.

I loved the first Lost Planet. It was the first game I bought for the Xbox 360. I played the demo for Lost Planet 2 and it's great. This looks like a cool idea and I'm all for it. I mean, why not?

Because it's unnecessary and I find it to be excessive. These are the kinds of things you read about in fan articles and fan fiction and hopefully these things remain hypothetical. What was wrong with the original plot of both games?

It just seems like Capcom is trying to use an equation that makes great money because 7 year olds and old dorks who feel they are obligated to buy it because they liked both games, but it doesn't make a good game.

The only thing that does give this game some prospective merit is that it is Capcom, and they did develop SNK vs. Capcom etc. But let's keep in mind, they are fighting games and there's never been a fighting game I've owned where I've paid good attention to the background story, which certainly makes it easier for me to focus on the gameplay. Therefore, all I see in a fighting mash up game is new characters, not a [most likely] bad attempt at trying to fuse the plots of two different games, with similar plots but completely different moods.

Here's why I believe there's a lack of creativity:
Gears of War had the gritty chunky characters and extreme violence with unrelenting gore. Lost Planet was a game where you killed bug aliens so that you could eventually restore the environment. Different, but not too different, making it easy to just smack the two together haphazardly and call whatever is left a "plot", which I find to be lazy on the developers part and awkward on my part as a quasi-fan of both titles.

Necroing an old thread since I don't want to make a new one.

Well Lost Planet 2 has a demo out and they already showcased the Female pirates but seriously I am getting tired of the unrealistic outfits just to show eye candy.

There is a time and place for sexy material but I wish the devs would treat gamers with a bit more maturity.

And do you think they added enough jiggle physics.....I mean really.
