Default Post count conundrum

Hi everybody. I noticed that my postcount has fluctuated wildly since I started posting here.

One of the threads I replied to got moved to Shameless Self-Promotions. I was asking some questions to the OP and apparently now that they are in that channel my replies aren't worth a post.

I only care about enough to post this thread, but I'm just wondering why some posts are apparently 'worth more' than other posts.

If you post in a topic that gets moved to the lounge then those posts are removed from your total post count .

Is there a reason contributing to the community in certain parts of the forums don't grant you a post +1?

so stop posting in retarded "counting-game" threads that get deleted.

but also... who even cares? i mean look at raiyne.... a shed-load of posts but largely worthless.... compared to say brian who gets tons of rep from his posts but has alot less.

The answer it simple because it's pointless why do you care so much about post count. It's not like you get special treatment or something post count means nothing. Also when it comes to the lounge do you really think your contributing to the community.

Congratulations \o/ You just hit the nail on the head! I was wondering how long it would take for somebody to post this.

So if post count doesn't matter, why does the forum make it so when a post is posted in the lounge or wherever it doesn't count?

And also like I said, I was only asking a question. I really don't care too much. Fact is it's just interesting that I see forums from time to time that somehow make it so posts in certain areas do not promote to your post count and I find it odd that the forum admins seem to care about that sort of thing.

Post count mostly show how active you are and the dedication to the forum.

Section like the lounge, where forum games etc are done don't do any of those two, hence the disabled post count.

If anyone would like me to build a rig, I'd prefer it to be in a thread in the tech section rather than PM. Thank you.

Because, technically, you can go to the lounge and post "Derp dresp psel alp bpep beep dodop wap!" 1000 times without repercussions. Its a place for spamming...but it seems like it gets used for every other General section post.

IDK. Its a mixed blessing
