I believe Seagate uses 8% of it's hard drives for MBR? or something. WD uses about 10%.

Also, SnOw, did you include OS?

Darksin don't know if you fixed but you might still have an Windows.Old folder in you C, run Disk Cleanup and delete that, you get that folder if you wen't to W7 from Vista i think ..

I meant he might had included the OS. Neither you nor I can really say for sure what was the previous problem since he didn't include a picture of it.

if you bought a 500 GB hard drive its actually around like 470-480GB maybe less so an os is around 10-20gigs for windows xp (no idea for others) so yes it might

I think some of it is system restore. It makes a copy of everything. Try clearing system restore and emptying recycling bin
