Is there anything bad about hibernating your computer instead of shutting it down? I've read that hibernating is basically identical to a shut down, except that your computer saves a "snapshot" of whatever you were doing on your HD.

It's basically shut down, but it keeps everything still running with extremely low power still running through
Also, I don't why it's not data safe.

question, how about putting your computer into the Sleep Mode? I hear that just cuts the power from your hard drive.
I leave my computer into Sleep Mode every time I go to sleep (no pun intended)~ is that bad or no? |

I never heard the rumor it cutting off power to the HDD. Also, if it's harmful, I guess the millions putting their computers on sleep are screwed.
