So, I've just reformatted after getting my new quad core.

Redownloaded Steam and I start downloading the games but it ALWAYS causes my internet to have a major slowdown, up to the point my net doesn't work.

Browsers, games, MSN, don't work until Steam is done with it's download or if I close it off.

I had this problem for ages but I just dealt with it hoping Steam would make a fix for it. BUT NOOOOOO, they like to torture me.

Any help?
