Hmm I like this band called Luna Negra. Check them out! I don't think they are "unique" per-say but they are still awesome.

Look into Devin Townsends projects, Ki, Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Project. He uses the weirdest tunings and song structures. Pretty obscure and catchy.
