Default quick windows 7 question

i just got a new computer since my old one died and was wondering if it was possible to install my windows 7 student edition on my new hdd (my old one wont boot up because it said hardware changes blah blah blah but when i boot off windows vista off the new one the old one loads and reads fine it works fine)

Put in your win7 CD.
Go into BIOS and put bootpriority to cd/dvdrom first and let it run the install.

I don't know exactly when windows creates a windows.old folder with your old stuff, so be prepared to have your data removed.

Installing it on a different computer will require you to go through a verification process to ensure that your copy is genuine. I had to have my computer generate some kind of keycode and then input the code over a 1-800 number. It took about 10-15 minutes.

Or just use an activator. :/

Since your old one won't boot up, I assume you won't be using it anymore. It should be fine. The only no-no is using one copy of Windows on two computers at the same time.
