More depth, more replay value, and (though I've never played any starcraft mods and this is purely off screenshots of the Starcraft mods) better mods.

Though I suppose not everyone would agree with my opinion, but that's all it is, and opinion.

Probably FEZ once it comes out (if it ever does). It isn't as deep or complex as other strategy games, but I guess it could work.

Total Annihilation and Eve Online represent in my opinion the pinnacles of strategy gaming in their respective genres.
