I have a Sony Wega KDF-E42A10 and I'm trying to hook my ps3 up to it via hdmi. The ps3 is usually out in my living room but I want to move into my room so me and my gf have a dvd player in here as well. But I'm having issues. The hdmi cable is fine as it works in the living room through hdmi. The tv was working fine with my xbox 360 through hdmi about a year ago. I sold my xbox 360 no longer wanted it. The tv's hdmi input is video 6 i think says 6 on the back by hdmi in (i've skimmed them all while the ps3 was on and nothing). I reset the ps3 settings by holding down the power button when I turn it on. So it goes to lowest basic settings and nothing on video 6. It wont work if I hook up compsite and hdmi then switch the ps3 to hdmi settings and unplug the compsite. Im totally lost I dont know what to do and im like 95% sure the hdmi port on the tv is fine as I used it not to long ago. Only thing I can think of is some how the hdmi signal got shut off? If that's even possible and the users manual doesn't help that much unless I missed something. I have no Idea how to turn it back on looked through all of the tv settings and nothing if that's even whats wrong im so lost I'm going insane please help.

PS3 screen > Settings > Display Setting

And choose your HDMI cable at the lower two options.

that doesn't work I cracked and bought component cables universal ones for wii, 360 and ps3 15 bucks at gamestop so w/e tv in our room doesn't even do 1080p only 1080i. Idk why but the ps3 wasn't even getting the hdmi signal from the tv in here. I know this because when ever I tried certain settings it would say no hdmi signal was found try reconnecting it or turning it on. When I hooked it back up in the living room it picked it up right away. So my guess is its a setting on the tv that I can't find for the life of me or the hdmi card in the tv shit the bed.

you do realize component cable A is not better than component cable B right? what I'm trying to say is if you go buy the $20 component cable that says Playstation on it it's not going to give you higher quality video than one that says madcatz. Same with any audio/video cable monster isn't better quality than idk dynax or w/e the best buy one is. You are paying for the name. Yeah sure something might be "cheap" but the quality of what it's doing isn't going to be affected. It might break easier but if you check the product out within the return period and it isn't flimsy why not save the extra cash? I saved an easy 5 bucks on buying madcatz component cable and its universal ps3, wii, 360 than spending the extra 5 for something that says playstation 3 on it its just stupid imo.
