Default How is WoW?

How is PvP in wrath of the lich king? Does the ridiculous regen kinda ruin PvP?

How is PvE in Wow now?

What different about WoW since the burning crusade?

I used to play a long time ago. I'm thinking about start playing again but am not sure how good the game is anymore.

Give it ago you having nothing to lose

1. PVP is fine and healing doesn't kill PVP due to a thing called "Mortal Strike" and they have added new battlegrounds that involve vechile combat
2. PVE is also fine they recently added the Ice Crown Content which people are currently clearing

3. There are lots of things different new spells, talents, a new class, new areas, new proffessions..if you're "not sure how good the game is" try it and make up your own opinion because what you enjoy and find fun isn't going to be the same as anyone else so its bet to make your own opinion on the matter.

Rogues have mortal strike as well. Shadow Priests and mages have mini mortal strikes, and affliction warlocks have mini mortal strikes on hots.

1. Anyway, WOTLK is more of a zergfest in arena than TBC. As in, in 3v3, lots of teams will try to get a kill within the first 30 seconds of the game. 2v2 no longer has significant rewards, so it is generally less active than 3v3. However, a lot more team setups are more viable than in TBC, as in many more classes are able to play to a somewhat competitive level.

The two new battlegrounds, Strand of the Ancients and Isle of Conquest, are generally considered joke battlegrounds due to the excessive use of vehicle vs wall rather than player vs player. Generally, battlegrounds as a whole are not very competitive and are generally used only for the daily pvp quest and grinding (grinding as in not fun) honor.

2. PvE is very much more open to casuals at the moment, and has been for the entire release of WoTLK. Near-BestinSlot gear is available from badge-vendors with emblems of triumph and frost. You can get these emblems very easily by pugging raids and doing weekly raids. Just about every pug can clear the first wing of ICC (in both 10man and 25man), do daily heroic every day, and do weekly raid quest(generally old easy raids) for around 40+ emblems of frost per week, which will get even casuals almost best in slot gear very quickly (this includes the gear that drops off the puggable raid content).

"Hardcore raiding" is much weaker now than it was in the past due to the availability of near-bestinslot gear from the easiest tasks available. However, there are generally still guilds that consider "hardmode encounters" difficult and do progression nights for them, but it is much less serious than in the past. While in TBC, there could have been 6 days a week of 5-7 hours a night of progression in one raid, current "hardcore pve" guilds raid much less per night, and do old raids for the sake of getting some free emblems/decent gear.

3. Generally easier to play and gear up (you can pug just about everything; there are often pugs on good servers that can clear or almost clear regular icc). More classes viable for somewhat competitive pvp. Same amount of QQ about everything.

We've been going between rank 1 and rank 3 in 2v2 (2650ish tonight, just over rank 2 to rank 1, but I think we'll settle for 2nd or 3rd), and my warlock and I have been playing with a 1800-1900ish rival druid to 2600-2650ish in 3v3 (He bought his 1800 weapon cause he didn't think we'd get 2200)(Rank 5 atm). On a team with some transfers in 5v5, but haven't played any games with them so far.

edit: actually just tanked down to 2550 in 3v3 because our druid couldn't heal a 30k health 1450 resil elemental shaman (with 36% damage reduction while stunned from talents) through crappy 2200 teams.
