Well, technically OP was asking for a PvP game. Also, Aika has never promised anything more than to be a PvP game at it's core. Which is why it advertises 1000v1000 combat as it's main drawing point. Calling something the "same ole, same ole" is pretty tired, to be honest. I can say that about any MMORPG that has released over the last 6 years.

It's how an MMO delivers itself that makes it unique these days. Not the features. What more can you ask for from a PvP game? Do you expect it to be the next big thing? With expectations that high I wonder how most people on these forums can stomach half of the games they actually play.

If you want to try Aika for it's PvP, try it. It's worth at least giving it a shot. Form your own opinion instead of listening to the opinions of the people who troll these forums with "Oh that's just the same generic--" BS that they always fling around. At least be original with your reasons for something being bad. Otherwise, you're just another "generic" "mmo-hater".

most people play aika because

1) it's new
2) has a pvp element
3) Has nearly ZERO lag <-- HUGE issue for a lot of f2p games out there atm.

Adjust your expectations because a majority of F2P games are hosted on crap servers. Don't expect much from f2p quality games, it's sad but it's the truth.

I've just downloaded a bunch (jade dynasty, allods, aika), ended playing them for a day or two and quit.

Once you touch p2p games there's very little chance of sticking with f2p.

As I said though, for pvp, there is no better game that Guild Wars.

you could try the chronicles of spellborn its pvp defntly the next gen of mmorpg pvp. Just wont find many to pvp most people have problems playing it. I didnt have any problems and would ping at 20 on it.
Its non target based "unlike guildwars" mmorpg you have to aim to hit and dodge yourself to make people miss.
Guildwars pvp was best befor the actual release then they dumbed it down.

I hella agree with you. I always seem to go back to GW but i havent been playing games in a long while. I needa get windows on my Mac so i could start playing. Guild Wars has some great PvP dynamics based on the skills you choose, your build, equipment, and teamwork. Thats like all you could look for in a good PvP game in my opinion.
