I'm looking for a top down, FREE, and not cash shop dependent, space shooter MMO with elements of games like Star Sonata, Starport GE, Stellar Frontier, Subsbace Continuum, and Starfighter: Disputed Galaxy.
Okay, i pretty much listen every single topdown space shooter MMO I know, so I'm not really picky at all when it comes to suggestions. Thanks in advance. P.S. I don't give a flying crap about graphics, as long as gameplay is sweet. |

Infantry
http://www.station.sony.com/casualProduct.vm?Id=039 It's not exactly the same as that, since it doesn't involve space ships, but it's futuristic gun and vehicle battling, 2D, top down and free. Plus it's a pretty awesome game... or it was at least when I played it like 10 years ago lol. |

Galactic Melee (closed)
There are two others like Starfighter, but since I haven't played them in years, I do not remember They were not memorable. Then there was one like Starport. And one that tried to start copying Starport. And then a ship-builder game where the AI controlled your ship in duels. And a Star Trek one. And a pretty good one where there were governments: http://outer-empires.com/images/Gove..._Map_Print.jpgI also recommend Altitude. It has nice physics (almost as fun as Subspace Continuum, yet with less skill required). And Darkspace went F2P, but I haven't tried it out yet. This was on my faves-list for some reason: aatrader.stardestiny.net Thanks ShasoKais! That was the Starport-like one! May I also recommend FreeAllegiance..? It's a Wing Commander/Freelancer interface with up to 50 vs 50 players in it. Kind of fun once you get the hang of things and start working with your teammates! Galactiv Melee and Altitude are the only ones I would recommend as being on-par with Subspace. You've already played AirRivals and Taikodom. Stellar Frontier is kind of inactive now... Try doing the Trench Wars events, or waiting for Galactic Melee to be relaunched ![]() And when you're bored, there is always Gunbound waiting for you.
