No, it's really not like bribing at all. That's just silly. It's simply a good time you can enjoy with each other and give you something to discuss later. A nice resteraunt (doesn't have to be a 50 dolla steak joint) is a great atmosphere for talking and getting to know a classy lady.

Not to say that going cherry picking isn't a good date - that's actually a great idea for a date. But movie and a dinner isn't bribing at all.

Although I do agree with you about him asking her out immediately (if he feels ready) and not buying girls things on first dates and stuff.
