Default A Nightmare on Elm Street

Anyone saw this movie beside me? Saw it on the theater and it was well worth it. Very very amazing movie and intense, some scenes might be a little bit too off but overall is an amazing movie. Specially the end, the ending is really genius on how they put it.

I've been debating seeing it, of course I intend to, but mostly debating seeing it before iron man 2. As much as I want to see this,(I love being scared) I'm going to see iron man first at a friend's recommendation. :P

growing up watching the original series of movies, I'd have to say this one wasn't absolutely terrible. I don't feel as if I wasted my time at all, and it was a pretty refreshing look at it, but you have to be sarcastic about the ending? That was such a hollywood thing to do, I mean I know that nancy's mom dies in the original but what they did at the end was so ridiculous haha

So...for someone who is a die-hard fan of the original, you think its worth their time?

As in, purchased the movie on every-single format to date. Owns multiple t-shirts and other merchandise with the original movie on it. Knows almost every line and event by heart and can recite it on spot?

I loved the original. I don't want to waste my time with this if its anything like ****ing Freddy vs Jason.

Honestly, I wouldn't take anybody's word for it. It's all based on your personal preference. The movie got tons of horrible reviews but I still saw it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Worst case scenario you wait til it's out on dvd

It's produced by the same studio that did like five or six other horror remakes these past few years. ;o They were all terrible IMO, especially Friday the 13th. I read a review for this movie and based upon what the guy said I don't feel I'd enjoy it at all. They apparently just rehashed most of the scenes from the original instead of creating new ones, which is something I can't stand because they'll never live up to how you felt when you saw the original scenes. It's a pass for me.

Well personally I believe a remake should rehash scenes from the original. If they did change it up too much then it would be an entirely different movie and there would be no reason to call it a remake, but then again that's just my opinion. All I can say was it is 100x better than the Friday the 13th that came out last year

I would sit here berating you for your ignorance (or lack of intelligence, you pick) like Norrin for a few hours on end but I'll just post little excerpts from the remake wiki to make you look like more of a dumb@ss for me.

Quote:
The term "remake" is generally used in reference to a movie which uses an earlier movie as the main source material, rather than in reference to a second, later movie based on the same source.
Quote:
With some exceptions, remakes make significant character, plot, and theme changes.
Quote:
...notable example is the 1932 film Scarface which was remade in 1983 starring Al Pacino; whereas the setting of 1932 version is the illegal alcohol trade,
...and the '83 version is considered a film classic. ;/ p'z0wned.

8D I mentioned Scarface earlier, what a co-inky-dink.

Who am I kidding? I pirate everything and watch it intoxicated. Its not like I'm losing anything by watching it anyway.
