well im going to tell you right away members is A HELL of a lot better then f2p. but you shouldnt dive into members with a level 10 account or something heres some good levels to have
60 attack
60 defence
60 strength
40 range
55 magic (a lot easier to get in members due to the options you get but not impossible to get in f2p)
38 prayer... again you might just be better off getting it in members
40 cooking
60 fishing lobsters in karamja is probably the best option fish and then sell at the general store there
40 smithing
50-60 mining <--- this ones optional mining is a fairly useless skill these days
40 fire making
40 crafting
30 runecrafting
these are just suggestions from yours truely you dont need those levels but you will enjoy your time in members runescape a lot more if you do have them OH and doing all the free to play quests is an advantage as well as having a full set of rune and a good solid million in cash if you are having trouble making cash in f2p a good choice is yew logs or mining coal or something
i can give you an idea on how to get all your levels and make some money doing so :P
FIRST assuming you are a low level (3-20) get your skill lamps from the guy in the house closest to the lumbridge guide go down the ladder and talk to him about dragons or something then go pick up the iron dagger in the goblin house and kill goblins to about 10 attack defence and strength then go off and kill cows collecting there cowhides and banking them when you need to go until you have enough cowhides to buy some armour and a good weapon. head off to the grand exchange sell the hides buy steel armour and scimmy and head off and kill roaches (level 8) until you have 20 in all attack defence and strength then you will probably be bored with combat so head back to lummy and pick up an axe and cut some wood burning it with your tinderbox when you have a full invintory do this til about 30 in each skill (using the best axe and cutting the best tree you can with your level) then you will probably be bored with this so you head off to your next skill fishing and cooking head off to the lumbridge shrimp fishing spot and bring an axe and tinderbox fish until your full go cut a log in the swamp and cook the shrimp drop the burnt ones and either drop the cooked ones or bank them (up to you) do this until you want to move on to the next skill which will bring you back to the lumbridge cows head back there and collect the cow hides (or if you have money buy them if you want) collect a few hundred and head off to al kharid and buy a needle and thread head off to the tanners and tan them then make stuff out of them (making the highest thing you can for your level)then once you are done that move on to mining and smithing, mine 1 load of copper then 1 load of tin for best results until level 15 in which you will move on to iron bank that when you get bored of mining them take your stuff to the alkharid furnace and make bars then once you are done with that go to varrock and use the anvils close to the bank to make stuff (or sell the bars for more money up to you but smithing things gives more xp)
im not going to get into magic and ranging because they are pretty easy to figure out wellllllllllllllllllllll hope my very small and easy to write guide was helpfull in some very small miniscule way
