A while back Snowbunz(I think) said that Windows 7 x64 bit would be good for this laptop because it would "use all the potential it has". Recently I am sort of starting to doubt it. I was starting to thinkn that maybe it is not the best OS for it. I mainly use this laptop for MMO gaming and HoN. I ran a 64 bit DxDiag.

The only thing holding you really back is the ram, otherwise there is little to no trouble running a 64bit OS.
Changing to win7 32bit will have little to no impact or might even backlash on you (*looks at Aion memory leak*). It's either windows 7 with latest game support and dx10+ or XP with dx9 and less ram usage. (I can't recall I told you to get W7, but than again I had alot on my mind lately)

Windows 7 ultimate 32 bit is just fine.
When I have it running idle it uses only around 284 mbs of RAM. Oh and to answer your question RAM stands for "random access memory". Your RAM is used when running programs as a way to quickly store and access certain parts of data. To put it into layman's terms all programs use RAM and once your RAM usage is maxed things will run really slow. So if you have 2048 mbs of RAM and you play a game that uses all of that ram and needs more then your game will run slow or possibly crash. But 2048 mbs of RAM is good enough for any game right now so no need to worry. |

Would this show the used RAM? That is with Firefox, Steam and Skype running into the BG. But Steam and Skype use almost nothing unlike FF.

Yes, it shows the used amount of ram.

It's quite common... Opera is about 500mb big right now (a few mb under Eve online even) and I think IE isn't any different (never bothered to check).
