I've read several articles on this guy. Most unrelated scientists seem to think this is false.
The most obvious reason is that real scientists cannot actually do an experiment on this because of the moral implications. To lock a person up for a long time without providing food or water which would ultimately(based on what we know scientifically) kill the individual, is illegal. So, a scientist who did such a experiment would be a person breaking the law, and thus his testimony would be worthless.

I won't judge though, as I can't say for certain whether it's true or not. But like someone said earlier, if this was true, then he should share his secrets to save all the people around the earth who die from lack of food and water on daily basis.
Whenever I see someone claim to have some sort of fantastic power that would contribute greatly to humanity, but has done nothing worthy of notice, I find it hard to believe.

It's obviously a plant disguised as a guy.... Disguised as a bear.

one major flaw: if he uses his "secrets" to save all the people around the earth, humanity itself will implode due to overpopulation.
irony: diseases, accidents, and other "unfortunate events" are keeping human kind along a fine line between continued prosperity and immediate extinction.

I'm not believing it only because he's in an Indian hospital. No one knows what they might be doing and what kind of lies they're making.

How is that a flaw? The biggest problem with overpopulation is the fact that keeping humans alive require things like food and water. If we could survive without it overpopulation wouldn't be nearly as much of problem as it is today.

Secondly, it isn't a flaw in the sense I was trying to express the argument:
Namely, that if you claim to be some sort of yogi, then keeping your life-saving powers to yourself, you're a hypocrite.

mmm you have a point, but when I mentioned a flaw, I meant a flaw in the sense that the amount of "land" or "ground" that we can live on will decrease drastically if people can't die from starvation or dehydration. Not to mention certain culturally-strict communities will adopt "barbaric practices" to keep their people-population in check...or separate.

If the world ends up having too many people that they have nowhere else to go...what then? will we somehow create a whole new continent/solid ground on the sea to accommodate the growing population? will we be able to travel to different planets where there are colonies/bases? will we start killing other people in an attempt to keep the population in line like they did in China?
