sup! I'm actually about to move to japan for a year under a working holiday visa. I've been to japan around 9 times so far just for vacation(exploring etc). About the crime rate being low i wouldn't say that's true. Crime can be seen in many ways and what your probably thinking is in term of someone putting a gun to your head to rob you. For one prostitution is big in Tokyo, little kids as low as 13 years old can have sex freely. Another thing if you live in Okinawa the marines always do something stupid and the entire military branch over there is a huge problem. Another thing i wouldn't say this is a crime but a lot of Japanese will try and take advantage of you so watch out for that. You'll have a really hard time finding a job without a degree and knowing the language fluently. Scratch that you won't have a chance at all. Technologically japan, i would say Tokyo, is very advanced in robot technology. Besides that i wouldn't say they are that much more advanced... computers and even phones are par with USA.

Oh i forgot to mention if you live in Tokyo prepare to have no privacy and little room.

My favorite thing about Japan is how it's divided from Tropical in okinawa and the smaller islands to modern weather in Tokyo, to colder weather and feet of snow in Hokkaido- Sapporo, etc.

Japans nice, just stock up on as much Pocky as you can, because they will sell any flavour you can think of. Oh, and it's just like you live in any kind of city, your life seems hectic because the environment around you is always moving, your life in terns of pace seems to quicken, because your just another person living/working or studying there. Well anyway, I can't really think of anything in particular, I guess if you like Japanese food, than you'll love it? They make some pretty mean Udons.

Really though...I hope you've been actually learning the Japanese (Not talking about stuff picked up from watching some anime) because otherwise I don't see how you could possibly want to go there and did you start saving? Did you? You know how much thats gonna cost you?

Really? That probably happens in bigger cities more often than not. I was in a rather smallish city so that's probably why I didn't experience this. And I also did experience one of those clubs. It was actually funny because as I was being turned away, they were bringing out a guy who passed out. In hindsight, I really shouldn't have stared as much as I did because they gave me a quite nasty evil eye.

You don't understand, may never will, that I did not watch the season of air gear and said " Omg I so want to go to japan!".
