Default Survival

Survival, such a simple term, yet complex. What does it mean to survive? What does it entail? Truth is, it's simply living to see another day. Making it through the hardships life throws at you, or "surviving" through them. Many people survive; they live their lives, on and on, yet they don't know what it truly means.

Sadly, for you, and the many others with you, survival isn't so easy. Especially when death is inevitable. You have been thrust into a game you didn't want to partake in. Thrust into a position you didn't want to be in. You are forced to survive against a horror that won't blink when it kills you, won't stop and think about what it's doing, it. . . just won't stop until every last one of you are dead.

You are in a game, you are the game, but will you survive? That my friend, is the real question.


Introduction:
First, I want to welcome you to an rp I've been wanting to post for a while now. I suppose you're wondering what it's all about. Well, if you continue on, it'll ((hopefully)) answer any and all questions you may have.

Story:
If you didn't quite understand from the short introduction here's a brief overview. Modern day America is not what many have imagined. The world is overpopulated, and much too crowded. People are living off the streets, disease, and crime runs rampant. The Governments Solution, Project "Revival". An attempt to "move" civilians to an Island out in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, clearing out much of the states, and ridding the world from overpopulation.

It seemed like a good idea, move people to an Island, wait for room on the states to clear up, and then let the process continue until we are down to a reasonable size. Millions volunteered, the Rich, the poor, and oddly enough, Convicts. Everyone seemed to be going to the Island, expecting a better life. To the rich it was simply an Island getaway, the poor the start of something better, and to the many criminals and convicts that were sent, it was simply part of their term.

But something didn't fit, nothing seeme to fit. You wonder what is truly going on as you finally reach the Island. Little do you know, the Island harbors many secrets, some that shouldn't be answered.....

Where you fit into Everything:
You were forced to travel to the Island, and now you are finally there. Your supposed home away from home. You have no idea what is going on, and that is where the rp is going to begin. You will find yourself at a loss as you spend your first day on the Island, and things will slowly be revealed to you. You are going to need to survive the horrors on the island, and attempt to unravel the mystery that surrounds you.

What to Expect:
This rp is going to be mix of mystery, suspense, action, and at times horror. This rp will be very much story driven, focusing more on character development, drama, mystery and the slow progression of the story, than action, and bloody shootouts. Though action will have it's part in the story, just not every second. So expect for a long read.

Rules:

1) The basic rules of OnRPG apply here, along with a few mentioned below.

2) Posts must be longer than four paragraphs ((each with at least 3-4 sentences each)). ((Feel free to post as much as you like, but one liners, and short little paragraphs will result in a warning and then removal. Exceptions for writers block will be made, but seriously, if you don't have anything to write about, wait until someone else posts and then build off of his post.))

3) Try and be as active as possible, we need a constant group of rpers that can keep the story going.

4) Follow the plotline set down by me, don't try to add strange and random things into the rp. I already have a set storyline we'll be following, and though I recomend adding you own touch to the story, don't go overboard.

5) Character Sheets will all be checked by me, if I feel there needs to be something corrected I will let you know. Plus, if the character sheet has multiple spelling errors, or things that don't seem to fit, not to mention if the history is shorter than a paragraph, I will not accept you. ((I'm sorry if I seem like a real a-hole, but I want the rp to be as in depth as possible.))

6) Perhaps the most important, Have Fun! Rping is not supposed to seem like a chore, enjoy the rp and have fun doing it, after all, it is technically a hobby.

REPEATED OFFENSES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE
Yes, I know, harsh, but if you continually do something against the rules, even after I have warned you, you will be asked to leave the rp. So consider yourself warned.

Now onto the Character Sheets!

Personality: Dezzy is the tradtional stereotypical gangbanger. Growing up on the streets of L.A. she was raised to be tough, gruff, and not to take crap from anybody. She can be cruel, harsh, and even downright bitter at times, making her a challenge to get along with. Her motto is, "Keep up, or fall behind. I won't wait either way". This is very evident in her recent criminal activities.

Despite her usual outlook as a tough as nails ganster, Dezzy does have a nice side, though she doesn't often show it. Her younger sister seems to be the only one who recieves this unusual kindness, though it often results in a slap in the face to Dezzy, and a harsh comment from her sibling. Constantly rejected by her sister, Dezzy has learned to keep things bottled up in side, not once showing a tear to anyone.

Appearance:

Physical Traits:
Dezzy is a medium height, thin, Hispanic woman. She is petite in her own way, and he feminine features, but is in no way weak, or fragile looking. Upon close examination, you can tell the amount of physical strain on her body by the multiple muscles that line her arms. Her body has multiple scars dotting it, some on her legs, and her stomcah to more, prominent areas, such as he upper back.

Her hair is a black color, fairly straight, and reaching just below her shoulders. Due to it's length, she often keeps it bundled up and out of the way in a ponytail. Her eyes are a simple shade of brown, and not at all "dazzling". Her hands are lined with numerous calluses and other such things from constant work and other such things.

Attire:
Dezzy, like all convicts, wear a traditional Orange Jumper, and on the back in large print the simple word CONVICT, to easily identify her. Underneath she wears a traditional mens, oversized black t-shirt that she keep rolled up in a small bun on the side. Her shoes are fairly plain as well, thick, black workboots given to all convicts. She's just lucky enough to have socks on underneath. On her right wrist is her Passenger Pin Number, 35567.

Dezzy's overall attire is tradtional of female convicts. Making her easily spotted in the crowd of people on the Island.

History: Dezzy was born on the streets of L.A. Her Father and Mother not even married when she was born. She was raised single handedly by her mother, who spent her days working as a Maid at a local Motel. It wasn't enough to get by though, and more than once did Dezzy and her mother find themselves begging for food, or in extreme scenarios, stealing it. Thus beginning Dezzy's long, and harsh life of crime.

While mother was away at her job, Dezzy went about, stealing small things from local store owners. Bread, water, candy, anything she could fit in her pockets she took. Though her clumsiness got her caught more than once. At age 13, Dezzy found herself in the local Juvenile Detention Center more than once, sometimes because of vandalism, othertimes stealing, it was random with Dezzy.

At age 16, Dezzy found herself back out on the streets with nothing, just like she started. Her mother soon passed away leaving Dezzy alone. Attempting to start over, Dezzy began to attend school regularly, though she found herself quickly thrust into the world of gangs, and crime yet again.

At age 19, Dezzy found herself in jail, for Grand Theft Auto and an assortment of other crimes. Enough to get herself sentenced for multiple years. The offer of traveling to the Island seemed a much needed escape from her cell, and not to mention the fact that upon one year on the Island, five would be taken off your term.

Accepting the offer ((not that she had much choice)) Dezzy soon found herself upon Arc Ship Jonah, heading to her destination at the Island. Little did she know, more than what she bargained for awaited her on the island.

Personality: Bryan is a guy who usually tries to keep to himself. He was a cop so he is tough and naturally can adjust to situations. He hates the thought of being unable to avoid his death. He is scared of not being able to move.

Appearance: He has a tattoo of a cross on his bicep. He wears a green bomber jacket over a solid black shirt. He wears cargo pants and converse shoes also. He carries a 9mm pistol given to him for his job. He keeps in in a holster under his jacket.

History: Before being sent to the island he was a cop/S.W.A.T. officer. He served 4 years in the military as a marine right out of high school and joined the police force shortly after that. He hasnt had much luck with money which is why he was the middle to lower class, more to the lower class. He has stayed in great shape and is very athletic. His girlfriend left him just before he got sent to the island. He wasnt told much about the island, they just told him that he would have a better life, a better chance to make money, and a job.
He immediatly said yes desperate to get away from his old life. He had 1 son with his girlfriend who he wish he could have spent more time with but new he couldnt due to his job. He figured that the money promised on this island would help him to be able to spend more time with him.

Personality: He is insane. It is kinda hard to explain so I will flesh it out more during the RP. I can say this though. He has OCD and constantly has to keep himself clean. (imagine him at a murder scene washing his hands in the kitchen sink 7 times [always 7 times])

Appearance: He has slick black hair that is cut neat and kept neat. He is muscular but not insanely so. He is well shaved and keeps himself clean and well kept. His nails are also well kept and clipped. He also flossed and brushes teeth.

Of course at the beginning he wears the orange suit and a straight jacket and a muzzle (there was an incident). Also at the beginning his hair will be messy because he was not allowed to comb it. ((P.S. can I at least get my hands on a comb and a flip razor))

History: His childhood is completely unknown. All that is known of him is his mafia history. He was part of a major mafia in the states, and he was very well known. He was one of their main killers. Everyone feared him and bowed to him. he was respected. Then he got caught. They could not execute him because he was proven to be mentally unstable. The best they could do was to get him sent out of the country.

In the asylum he was driven even more crazy because he could not keep himself well groomed. One that just for the hell of it he bit a doctor in the neck. It hospitalized the doctor and from then on he was forced to wear the mask.

When he was being sent onto the ship. The commissioner came to see him off. Again Red was feeling a bit bad and he smacked his muzzle into the man's head. He drew blood and left on his own happy note.

An example of how much he cares about cleanliness is this. One day he was in a restaurant. A waiter walked by and tripped. A bottle of wine spilled all over his cloths and hair. His cloths were ruined. He took the waiter out to the ally and killed the boy with his flip razor.

His family never really supported him on anything,He learned how to steal at a young age cause it
thought it was fun to steal things it gave him a challenge,he started stealing candybars and stuff and slowily moved up to cars and bigger stuff,he also loved to fight so he toke classes in Nin-Jitsu all 18 disciplines for right at 9 years,he is a very skilled fighter but is quite passive so he only fights when it is needed

((Jarhead4life, accepted. Screenfox, I noticed a few flaws in your character sheet, first, you MUST HAVE A HISTORY, one that explains everything and not just simply that he worked in the mafia. That and the jailers wouldn't give your character back his clothing seeing that he is a criminal. I also am curious about why they need to keep him in a muzzle. ((little details like that help to flesh out a character)). Once those are fixed I'll check over it again and see if you're accepted or not. TKkira, I also noticed some flaws in your character sheet. Most notably a few spelling errors, ((which aren't that important, but it will make things easier to read,)), and the fact that your history is far too short, ((at least a paragraph like Jarhead4life's, or multiple paragraphs like mine, after all, you'll be using this character the entire rp, might want to make things a little more "deep" or whatever)). After correcting these, and anything else I'll check it over again, like with Screenfox's.

Welcome to the rp Jarhead4life! , oh, and if I seem really picky about this I'm sorry, but I want every character and character sheet fully developed. It'll make the rp more smooth, and able to focus on character development.))

Personality: Kris likes to think of himself as a regular guy with an attitude towards civilisation. He loves creating anarchy, nothing too major but another to wind up everybody around him, its what amuses him out of everything in the world. Kris is arrogant and cunning towards other people, often manipulating them and using them for his own personal gain. The only person he truly cares about is his twin sister Lizzy.

Kris just loves annoying people, to see other peoples faces flare up in anger gives him an inner feeling of self-satisfaction. That is not the only reason he does it though, he thinks that the system is corrupt and needs change, he hates the government and will do any little thing he can do to get in their face although he is only a minor inconvenience compared to the government.

He hates the police, there's nothing more he hates that the governments lap dogs that jump when they tell them to. The police force do not have a mind of their own and they are just as corrupt as the government they work for, often planting evidence on suspects to end a case quickly. Kris created all the anarchy he could possibly create to start an uprising and overthrow the government, don't let his young age fool you, but Kris has a natural talent to be cunning and inspire over people to do his dirty work, if he can survive what has been thrown at him in the real world....what's stopping him on the island?.

Appearance:

Kris has thick dark brown hair which has several layers which stick in lazy spikes around his head. His bangs fall down to his ears and the right of his face partially covering his right eye. His eyes are bright blue in colour and are often covered with the bangs of his hair. Kris is quite tall, standing at 6'1. He has a muscular frame and he is a natural athlete, being the star athlete at his high school.

Kris wears a distinguishable scar which appears on the right of his face, starting from the tip of his right eyebrow down to his right cheekbone. Apart from this Kris has a clear complexion, he is quite tanned and fairly good looking.

History: Kris had always been inspired by his father, a man who had a different view on justice. His father was a member of a special forces unit which performed deniable operations under the direct command of the white house. Kris always wanted to be like his father, being as he worked in a special forces unit everybody would at first thing that he would be a patriot to his country, this is in fact right, he shows his patriotism to his country, but not to those who run it.

His father taught him how to be a revolutionary, to not trust the government and to do what you want to do. Kris always listened to his father, he was the perfect role model although he did have his flaws. When he got older, the words which his father told him stuck in Kris' mind. He felt he had to make a change, but if he could not make that change he at least hoped to spark the mind that would make that change. After he left school Kris began doing small crimes in an effort to get noticed by the police, often stealing from stores getting his face on the local paper, which eventually got him put in jail. In jail Kris got riled up and thought of a plan to upstage the government.

Upon his release, Kris sparked a riot between the local police station and the citizens by staging a fake murder by the police. Kris protested, creating fake evidence to inspire people to join his cause, he stated the the police were doing all they could to “quell the increasing population” which almost got Kris thrown in Jail again. He caught the police attempting to plant evidence on him to get him easily thrown into Jail, and he used this to spark a massive uproar.

After things had died down Kris was eventually thrown into prison again, this time he was on death row for disturbing the peace. Kris was given two options. First to die by electric chair, and the second option was to be move by boat to a beautiful island. Confused by his options Kris obviously chose the best option and was moved to the island. He thought of this as a way to escape execution and a way to start a new life for him and his sister.

Personality: Lizzy has always been a quiet girl, she obeyed whatever she was told to do without question and usually just sat in the background and watch people get on with their lives. She always tried her best to make people happy and expected nothing in return. She is quite shy and has always never been seen leaving her brothers side.

Lizzy has never had a successful love life or even just a friend, her only true friend was her own twin brother. She is quite timid but also loving and caring, always trying to make the best out of every situation. She inherited the intelligence of her father and has always been good at solving problems, she helped her brother stage the riot, but did not get directly involved herself. This helped make her hard to be pinned as a suspect along with her rebellious brother.

Appearance: (( I didn't want to write two descriptions x[)).


History: ((I'm not going to put too much detail into her history because basically her history is the same as Kris')).

Lizzy had always been the quiet sibling, she had always been interested in whatever her brother enjoyed. You could say they both shared the same brain although they could not be seen finishing each others sentences.

Lizzy liked to watch from the sidelines always watching her brother do all the practical things while she often offered the occasional piece of advice. She helped orchestrate the riot in Kris' absence, helping round up people who would be willing to upstage the law and stop being put down for so long and being mistreated just because of the increase in population.

Lizzy was never found guilty of any charges and when she found out her brother was moving to the island she felt that she had to join him because they were both inseparable. She volunteered to get on the second class boat and journey to the island with him where they would make a fresh start and a new chapter to their already eventful lives.

((Anglo, great characters, ACCEPTED!! I look forward to rping with you. TK, it's an improvement, but perhaps not to the level I wanted, maybe fix it up a little more, and then I'll rethink it, but as of now it's still a no. ))

((Screenfox, as of now you are officially accepted! I'm actually looking forward to seeing how your character's need for cleanliness will come into play as we go along. Oh, and btw, you can have your comb and flip razor, that's fine with me, just be sure to include in your post how you got it, such as stealing it or what not. Just make sure to keep posts well-written with as few mistakes as possible, oh, and keep them long and descriptive and we'll be fine. I look forward to rping with you.))

Personality: Aria is the kind of person who would rather listen to a thousand stories than talk about her own life. Living a sheltered life when life advanced without her made her realize how small and insignificant her life has been. At the same time, she hopes that she will grow as a person with each tale she hears, making her life the more meaningful. History became one of her favorite subjects because the past they they know now is comprised of the views and experiences of many people, true or false. Knowing that there were people who left pieces of themselves made Aria long to change herself, succeeding in many things so that she herself can become a legend.
Even though she loves chasing after the dreams of others, that doesn't mean she wants to follow in their footsteps. In fact, Aria can't stand the idea of doing everything someone else does, to the point it feels like you are simply imitating someone else. While she will admire the feats of others, Aria does what she feels like doing. Being told how to act and compared to others are fears of others. Perhaps the only reason why she enjoys listening to the stories of others is because Aria doesn't want to repeat what others have done. Being told what is right and what is wrong is what strained Aria's relationships with her mother, but Aria secretely admired her father. His concern for her bothered Aria, making her afraid of turning into a "spoiled, rich child", but he offered her the freedom her mother felt troubled about. Her mother always thought that knowledge forced perfection, and when Abbie fell, it would be hard for her to climb up again.
Aria likes to do things fast and with a challange. Badminton, baseball, tennis, fencing, video games, and even playing her electric guitar all allowed for speed rush she loves. However, they all only prepared her for burst of energy, instead of long-term energy. In other words, Aria could outrun someone in a short dash easily, yet grow fatigue in distance running. Therefore, she hates swimming, long journies, waking up in the morning, and anything else that requires a lot of energy. Staying up for long periods of time isn't too hard, since she gets boosts of energy after awhile, but she is hard to wake up once she falls asleep. Her memory is quite good, and is is always up for learning something new.
Interesting Fact: She hates supernatural and scary things. Watching paranormal or horror movies creep her out, since they consist of things that can't be explained. Plus, they just terrify her. Magic and mysteries are decent to her, since most of the originate from something and, with careful thinking, can be explained. Also, she has a fear of blood and a fear of needles.

Appearance: Standing at 5'6, Aria seems to be average height. Despite the traces of muscles on her arms and legs, Aria has a slim, curved figure weighing at 121. Skin of a medium tan lines her body, with streaks of blush on her face and arms. Her face is long and oval shaped, with full lips and prominent eyes. Eyes with irises like raw amethyst stones reflects light easily and emits hues of light purple against the dark violet forming rings around her irises. Long locks of scarlet hair lead into black, as if the tips of her hair were dipped into ink. Layers can be seen among her wavy hair, giving her hair a wispy appeal and spiked bangs sweeping towards the right side.

Currently Wearing... a long sleeved, black shirt with an intricate, golden fleur de lis in the center of the shirt. Along the left sleeve growing bigger with each "wave" is a water vibration outlined with silky red. Traces of neon blue and light purple butterflies designed beautifully on the shirt can be seen "flying" amongst the "waves". Over the form-fitting shirt is a gold colored jacket with short sleeves, unzipped. On the back is a decorative cross of white and black. A black skirt with jagged ends hemmed in gold nearly blends in with her shirt, decorated with neon blue and light purple belts. Red leggings follow after the skirt, stopped by buckled, punk boots. Occasionally, she'll put on fingerless, black gloves, but only if she isn't planning to play her electric bass guitar, which can be found on her back in its black bag with a strap diagonally hung over her shoulders.

History: Abbie's story began with her parents, more specifically, her mother. Victoria ("Tori") Witt was always fascinated with the mind, helping those around her recover the self they desired to become. It didn't take long for her to gain friends, giving advice and bringing those she cared about out of depression. Dedicated to the process of curing the mind, Tori went to a famous medical school, got her MD, and eventually settled down at a well-known hospital. By then, she had more patients that were mentally ill, rather than those with problems with their daily life. While she was prescribing medicine to someone with a bibolar disorder, one of the doctors accidentally ended up in the wrong wing and asked her for directions. That doctor was Axel Sinclair, an intellectual who had an awkward grin and a cute face. Their relationship began rather slowly, becoming friends, best friends, lovers, and finally married as an inseparable couple. Working in the same environment allowed them to get to know one another better, and Tori had no problem discussing herself, her family, any secrets, worries, etc. As for Axel, he found it hard to open up at first, but couldn't compete with a psychiatrist. As a pediatrician, Axel was very fond of kids, and stood by Tori's side when they finally had a child: Abbie.

Apparently, Abbie's parents admired old fashion names, for her name was shortened from Abigail (only changed a bit when one of Axel's co workers hinted that Abigail would be too embarrassing). Such a thing wouldn't have bothered Abbie so much if it didn't feel like everything was stolen from her and everything around her belonged to her parents. She was forced to go to an upscale private school with children who were suppose to transform into elite adults. Most of the classes were difficult, but her mother often told her "only you and you alone can prevent yourself from learning when you are blessed with a clear mind ready to be filled". So, there was no escaping the vigorous lessons. Fortunately, there were many sports to take her mind off of the torture. Badminton, baseball, and tennis were two of her favorites, with fencing classes after school. Keeping herself busy and away from her empty house was Abbie's goal. As for her parents, they grew more and more busy as well, money being exchanged for the amount of time at home. Most of the activities she participated in were those that could increase her speed and timing. Video games were also a fun passtime, but Abbie's main joy came from playing a bass guitar.

For the most part, Abbie adapted to the living in a large mansion with only a handful of house maids being the only people that remained in the house when she came home. By the time she turned eighteen, Abbie decided to go full out on rebellion by refusing to choose any of the colleges her parents wanted. Of course, her mother tried to diagnose what was wrong and her father tried to play the part of a concerned father. Finding their efforts amusing, Abbie decided to go full out. She dyed her hair, got a new hairstyle, brought new outfits, packed any necessities, took a large amount of money, and disappeared from her parents' sight. No one knew she headed out on one of the Arc Ships until she used her name to register as a wealthy passager. On purpose, of course.
