hey onrpg, I'm a person who doesn't usually play shooters and never has much. I mean, I've played single player call of duty and call of duty 2 on normal and the same for almost all the Half Life games and Halo 2. oh and uh, most of Goldeneye if you want to count that. So I have... rudimentary knowledge of how things work I guess. The control scheme at least. I lack the reflexes and intuition that apparently come with experience almost entirely though.
Anyways, point is, I feel like playing a shooter now. Preferably something that I could reasonably expect a few of my friends to also play, because playing with strangers is for people who don't suck. Something that even a noob like me could have fun with on multiplayer (as opposed to playing with strangers who have been practicing 24/7 for years and will gun you down out of nowhere every five seconds, that is not fun). I don't care how old it is, as long as it hasn't become ridiculously outdated (ie. games have taken the same formula as it and done it better, such as early Medal of Honour Games vs. Call of Duty) and if it's graphically demanding (ie. probably if it's made after 2004) I'll have to run it on 360. so, any suggestions? oh also it should probably be something I can buy with a bunch of 20 dollar bills, or online points that I can buy from an eb games, as opposed to credit card.

If you're looking for one to play with friends that isn't too old (had has a solid multiplayer community), Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a good one.
Also, Left 4 Dead has a some great co op, that's really fun. I think it's even on sale right now, too! |
