Default correct way to go-kart?

im wondering what is the correct way to handle turns on a go-kart

the place i go to is an indoor flat track (1100 feet long and 20 feet wide) with gt-5 sodikarts that go around 40? mph (you need to wear a helmet)

there are 13 turns on the track ranging from 90 degrees to complete u-turns, so drifting is MUST unless u wanna get hit.

i was jus wondering what would give you a faster time, flooring it completely and attempt to correct your oversteer without hitting other drivers? or shortbrake on the turns and flooring it at the apex? or maybe a better way?

currently, i use the second option and my record time is 26.975 seconds

i only try to floor it completely on the 90 degree turns because trying to do that on a 20 foot wide u-turn is really hard for me

Don't know a correct way, I never use the brakes though xD
Just take your foot of the gas and go from the outside to the inside when your turning, and instantly put your foot on the gas again. You'll make a slight slip, but who cares?

on any turn its outside in. if you are coming up on the inside then you are off the racing line and doing it wrong. outside in and try to kiss the apex. its all about the braking zones really, brake too late and you overcook the turn and go offline, brake too soon and you lose speed into the corner and get a shitty line out.

time your breaks from the outside and aim to touch the apex as little as possible then head to the outside on the exit and floor it (on a straight) or gear down/brake if its another corner.

you always want to try to shorten the distance between two corners. also, never try to overtake on the outside.

unless you are jim clark

::edit:: also, HAVE FUN! its go-karts

You have to brake before the turns and accelerate coming out of them. If you just floor it you're going to end up in a wall.

so you ARE supposed to brake than? i kept wondering if my braking was adding to my lap time, current record lap time of the month is 23 seconds i think, but ive never actually seen the guy who made it

you pretty much have to floor it, the workers give you penalties for bad driving, that includes slow driving, 2 penalties and they take you out of the race

you also said accelerate rather than flooring, which would be a very bad idea on the track i use
