Okay so I'm quite new to anime and my friend has been watching them for a long time. I started out a few weeks ago by first watching Full Metal Alchemist and then Death Note which I both really enjoyed although they each did have their own flaws.

Okay so from those two anime I found it hard to find something I really enjoyed until I came acrosss an anime called monster...which I didn't like at the start but now I'm somewhat 30 episodes in and I enjoy it really much.

So today I started watching a new anime called High School Of The Dead...awesome I must say but the unecessary shots of girls cleavage is annoying at times.....

And so onto the anime that made me sick to the pit of my stomach....

School Days.

My friend said that it was her most favorite anime and that I would like it so I started watching it. It was okay at the start, if somewhat a little boring because romance is not my thing but i thought things would thicken up towards the end....and now I really regret watching it....so I just thought I'd share my opinion on this anime but trust me...if you havn't seen it...I highly suggest you do not watch it no matter what.

Now my friends suggested me a new anime....Higurashi no Naku Koro ni.

I watched an AMV of it on youtube, my friend said that it's just as sick if not worse....and I'm gonna watch it T.T I'm a glutten for punishment..

Anyway to show that this thread will not go to waste, were you just as sickened if you did watch this anime? Its the devils anime I swear...and I just thought I'd share my experience with you all...thanks everyone

lol good luck with Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, its pretty sick

im 22 and it made even my blood boil on moments :P to bad the 2nd season was just horrible.

Higurashi is a steaming pile of dog shit tbh. People over dramatize the shit because they make blood splash all over the place in unrealistic fashion. Not to mention the plot is retarded imo

Anyhew so liek you started out watching anime wrong. FMA and Death Note is a bad start next thing you know your watching Bleach and thinking ichigo is the most badass mofo ever.

That aside did you just want to know what Higurashi was like or find out about sommur

em, gorey? Stuff.

Watch Shigurui tho.

Nah I watched Bleach and I must say I wasn't impressed with it imo lol.

Oh and I wasn't just asking to see what Higurashi was like, I was wondering what anime you all would suggest for me to watch really, your personal favorites. It would be a great help to get me started on the road to watching anime lol.

thanks Eusnon for the summary of Higurashi...lol I'm gonna watch a few episodes and see what its like first hand and if it is poor as you say it is well il stop watching lol.

Definitely when it comes to bloody

yah stuff I'd say Shigurui. That has some of the most brutal shit evar and its all presented in a badass fashion instead of a child screaming at the top of their lungs while killing someone.

well the first thing you really need to do is find out what type of genre you really like. if you don't like panties shot, I suggest you to avoid the echhi/ero genre. sadly most anime like using the theme as cheap comedy gags, rather than using cleaner gags.

The series is good, but I prefer Umineko no Naku Koro ni instead since its more like a detective game in solving a bunch of scenarios in figuring the truth from lies in different perspective. the way the anime is presented is the same.

and afterwards, be sure to watch higurashi no naku koro ni kai and rei, unless the first season scares you off.

I reccomend Hajime no Ippo.

sure its not as flashy as most of the current anime, but it delivers well.
