A lone rider sat in the saddle of a massive warhorse that was perched atop a small hill overlooking the small village of Watchhold that rested on the borders of the great woodlands of the east. The rider, known to his people as Prince Deimos Leruthian Aldari, Lionheart and Blade of the Aldari, watched as a small raiding party of Goblins and Orcs ascended upon the village in defensive formations. The heavily armored Orcs taking up a shield wall with they're massive tower shields and preparing they're huge battle axes for any enemy unlucky enough to be sent against them, whilst the Goblins strung they're bows and took cover behind they're towering allies. At the head of the small force stood a Troll, armored only with a loincloth and an Aventail of hard leather, a spiked wooden club thicker than a boulder at the end protruded from his clenched fist as he called a halt before the wooden walls of Watchhold.
"Warriors of the Aldari clan, we come in peace, requesting aid from our Grand Chieftan, Urun Khai. Our lands have come under siege by Warriors great in number, and in stature from the North. They burn our lands, pillage our settlements and destroy our livelihood. Our Lord remembers the hostilities that have separated our people in the past, but the Urathai have come seeking the aid and companionship of the Aldari, to fight this new enemy, that, when it is finished with our nation, will surely advance upon yours." The Troll bellowed so that his voice could be heard within every home and store within the town, including the Estate of Lord Ferendell Northanc, regent of Watchhold. The half dozen archers that stood on the battlements, bowstring drawn and arrows readied, shouted to someone bellow to request audience for the Urathai with the Lord Ferendell. "Our Lord has been informed of your presence, and your request of audience, we merely await his reply." The Archer Captain called down to the Troll, who in turn inclined his head and lay the head of his club on the hard packed dirt that made up the road leading into Watchhold, his right hand resting on the pommel. What seemed like ages later to the waiting Urathai warriors, the wooden gates were drawn quickly back, making way for the mildly dressed man who rode a large Charger, and his escort of around twenty five Infantrymen, and his two personal bodyguards. The man was garbed in a rich brown robe made of the finest silk, with armored Gauntlets, Boots and an ornamented barbute helm his only means of armor. ~~~~ The man atop the hill watched the proceedings with a twinge of curiosity that slowly grew with every passing moment. The Urathai were hostile to all other races, with absolutely no exceptions, and had been constantly at war with the Aldari since the two peoples had first met, and here it seemed, they came under a banner of peace. "Hmmm...Well, regardless of what the circumstances are, our side is currently outnumbered atleast three to one, and seeing as how a Troll is present, that further increases they're odds of a victory if they mean treachery, battlement archers or no." Deimos said aloud as he grabbed the reins of his white Charger, named Phobos. "Come my men, we ride for Watchhold!" Deimos shouted out to the escort of about fifty light cavalry as he snapped the reins, sending Phobos bolting down the hill, followed closely by the escort. ~~~~ "I am Ferendell Northanc, Shield of the Great Woods, and Lord of Watchhold. Who requests this audience?" Ferendell started the formalities as his warriors surrounded him, preparing to give they're lives in his defense if the Urathai meant harm. "I, Tork Burlak, Raiding Chief and Hunter for my people have requested this audience on behalf of Grand Chieftan, Urun Khai, Scourge of All and Mighty Master of the Eastern lands. We have come to beg for the aid of the Aldari, and possibly the allies of the Aldari in the war that is raging within our lands at this very moment. Warriors who have crossed the Northern seas have laid siege to our lands, and are threatening to overrun us and drive our people to extinction." The Troll Replied with a slight bow, exercising humility in the presence of one who held Noble standing. After a few minutes of contemplation, Ferendell finally spoke: "Our Prince, and Eldest son of our great King rides for Watchhold at this very moment. If it pleases his majesty to meet with you, you may present your case to he, and his decision will be taken as that of his fathers, whatever it may be. Until that time, i would ask your people to make camp outside of our walls, for your people have not yet garnered our trust." He said just as the sound of hooves rose to meet they're ears. "Ahhh...It seems your timing was perfect, for here comes our Prince at this very moment." Ferendell added as he wheeled his horse to the right just as Deimos and his Cavalry escort emerged from behind the northern walls. They reined to a halt as they pulled in beside the Regent and his guard, and Prince Deimos joined Ferendell at the head of the procession. "I can handle it from here, Ferendell, get your men safely inside and return them to they're families, i will not have your peoples blood spilled on this day." Deimos said to his old friend with a slight smile in greeting. "If that is your will, M'lord, but i will keep my archers at the ready incase you have need of them." Ferendell replied with a wink and a grin as he wheeled his mount around, and with his guards, returned to his village. "Now, i am sure you have presented your request a sufficient number of times, Troll, and if i am not mistaken, you are here requesting Military aid, and possibly a lasting alliance between our peoples. If this is so, then my reply is most certainly. whether my father agree's or not is of no consequence to me, and if there is a force that is powerful enough to make the Urathai nation tremble, then i have no doubt they will see it fit to invade our lands, and do the same to ours as they did to yours. So what better a defensive measure than to build an alliance of all peoples, and fight this enemy on a united front? None, i say!" Deimos shouted for all to hear, a lively and excited atmosphere engulfing Urathai and Aldari alike as a loud cheer broke out from both peoples. "I extend the deepest gratitude to you, from the Urathai, we will return east and inform our Grand Chieftan of our success, and we look forward to fighting alongside the warriors that even we have not been able to best. Perhaps we will make better allies than enemies." Tork said with as much of a bow as his Troll body could muster before he and his men went about setting up camp, for nightfall had come, and the embassy was tired from the long march. As the meeting saw it's end, Deimos and his cavalry entered Watchhold and settled down for the night, preparing for the talk of tactics in the morning, as well as the inevitable journey home to the Capital city of the Aldari Mainland: Lumen Ira. King Loric Virilian Aldari would be eager to find out that his son had just allied the entirety of the Aldari with they're most bitter enemies, without even confirming if it was a trap or not. ~~~~ As dawn came, so did the hustle and bustle of typical morning antics. Deimos was preparing for his meeting with Ferendell and the Officers of Watchhold to discuss what exactly the plan for the upcoming war was, and what part Watchhold would be playing. When Deimos had strapped the final piece of his armor on, he made his way to the Estate of Lord Ferendell. Upon entering the conference room, where Lord Ferendell and three Guard Captains sat at the far end of a large rectangular wooden table laden with treats and appetizers, Deimos moved to take the seat at the head of the table that Ferendell was now offering. "Thank you for your hospitality, Ferendell, i will see to it that it is not forgotten." Deimos said as he took his seat. "You are too kind M'lord, no acknowledgment is necessary, it is the least i can offer." Ferendell replied as he too took his seat, and there is where the discussion of Tactics began, and continued far into the day. The conclusion was reached, that Lord Ferendell would establish a supply train to the nearest Urathai settlement, where the Aldari would provide the support of supplies, for currently they had no army of great enough size to send to the aid of they're new found allies. Once the discussion came to a halt, it was far too late to begin the journey back to Lumen Ira, so Deimos and his escort bunked in the Watchhold barracks for yet another night before taking they're leave early the next morning, well before most of the town folk awoke. After several days of hard riding, and several nights of sparse sleep and rest, the entourage arrived at the gates of Lumen Ira, translated as 'Light Wrath'. A fanfare was blown by the guards high atop the battlements, informing the city of the return of the Prince, and the massive gates were cumbersomely drawn back, revealing a long road that went in a straight line for exactly 2 miles before reaching the Golden Gates of the Royal Castle. The Castle was Deimos destination, and he had to arrive there as soon as possible. Knowing this, his cavalry escort charged the massive crowds, driving them aside as the Prince made haste for the Palace. After around fifteen minutes of strong riding, passing smaller, less grand roads that branched off into the different wards of Lumen Ira, with only the most prominent shops displayed on the Golden Road, as it was known to the Aldari due to it's Honey coloring, Deimos arrived at the Golden Gates of the Royal Palace, given this name due to the fact that they were forged of pure Gold. After yet another fanfare was blown, the Gates swung open and Deimos rode into the courtyard where a groom approached, bowing and holding his hand out to take the reins of the horse as Deimos dismounted. After he said his goodbyes to Phobos, he continued up the huge stairset that led to the Palace, contemplating what he would say, and how he would break the news to his father, who was already stressed enough as it was in his old age. "Just walk in, tell him i've made an alliance with our arch enemies, and ask him how his day is going...Perfect strategy..." He muttered to himself as he reached the top of the stairway. Making haste to the throne room was quite simple, for there were no peasants on they're daily business to slow him down. The guards on duty at the palace gates saluted as soon as they saw him and let him pass through the open archway, leading into the Hall of the Ancients where marvelous paintings and recovered possessions, such as suits of armor, or weapons, of previous Kings and Queens lay for the enjoyment of others to look upon the past. When he had reached the double doors leading into the throne room, he took a deep breath, and gave the order for the two guards to open the doors. As they opened, Deimos was greeted by bright flashes of sunlight flowing like a golden fountain from the many windows laid out across the throne room, and getting over the sudden blindness, he strode towards the empty throne. Knowing exactly where his father was, Deimos walked around the grandly ornamented throne, and opened a small door that led to the royal apartments. Upon entering the room, Deimos saw his father sitting in a rocking chair in the corner of the room, a tall, muscular, but old man, with a long white beard and even longer white hair. He seemed to be asleep, but when the chamberlain noticed Deimos waiting in the doorway, he hurried to wake the monarch. As the King awoke, he jumped from the chair, drawing his blade and sent a wicked slash through the air at imaginary enemies that he though had awakened him. Suppressing a giggle, Deimos strode over to his father and embraced him, and after a few moments the old King returned the hug. After they exchanged greetings, Deimos took a seat in an extremely comfortable lounge chair and, after relaxing, he began to tell his father of the happenings of the past week. When the time finally came to tell his father of the greatest of events, he just happened to start just as his father took a nice swig of beer from the tankard the Chamberlain had brought him, and upon hearing his son say: "Oh yea, and i met a band of Goblins and Orcs led by a Troll and i made an alliance with the Urathai, so they are expecting us to send an army to aid them in they're most recent conflict...How was your day?!" he spewed the contents of his mouth across the room and began to cough uncontrollably. The Chamberlain quickly rushed to the kings side, only to be shewed away as the coughing slowly subsided. "How was my day?! Bloody splendid up until this point!" Loric raged as he stood. "What could possibly possess you to ally our people with the very creatures that have plagued us with war since the very moment we first made contact with them?! Boy, what you have done is very near treason, and i have a mind to disown you as my son..." Loric continued, suddenly falling silent as he realized the weight behind his words. "I know that even though you are willful and headstrong, you are not stupid, and you no doubt have a good reason behind your decision...Would you be so kind as to share this with me?" He finished, slowly easing himself into his rocking chair again as he settled down. "Yes father...The leader of the embassy, a Troll by the name of Tork Burlak, brought news of a massive army invading from the far reaches of the northern sea. From what Lord Terendell told me of his conversation with the troll, they are not only great in number, but also in battle prowess. He also said that the Troll hinted at the fact that there are Giant men among the invaders, possibly larger than the Trolls, but at least they're size. We have been at war with the Urathai for decades now, and still have made only a small dent in they're war machine, as they have with ours. If the invaders from the north are great enough to make the Urathai Kingdom tremble, than it would only be a matter of time after they are defeated that the invaders would then turn on us, and eventually every other Nation, until they control all of the known world. So not only do i propose to you the chance to defeat this enemy and secure a treaty of peace and an alliance with the Urathai, but if you would also allow me to be an embassy to the other nations, we might also garner they're support and aid, so that when this enemy is defeated, we can bring these lands under an age of peace among all..." Deimos said, finally breathing a sigh of relief as he finished his argument, though feeling as if there were more he must add. "Well...My son, what if there is no great enemy in the East? What if this is all a ploy to get us to send our armies to the aid of the Urathai, only to have them captured and destroyed by they who claim to be our friends?" His father said, bringing up a valid point. "That is precisely why i suggested allowing me to take an embassy to the other provinces, the Kairvoi, Erkutz, Osdegon, and perhaps even Freedoms land..." Deimos shot back, finally putting to rest his fathers disagreements and suspicions. "Well, my son, it seems that you were perhaps not acting as rashly as i had at first suspected...I will allow you to take this embassy to our neighboring provinces, though the road will be extremely dangerous, so make sure that this embassy is fit for whatever trials may come. I do not know if i, or our nation, could bear the loss of it's crown prince." Loric finally said after minutes of silence before standing and walking to his quarters. "Gather your men, and when you are ready, return to me and i will make sure that you receive a proper farewell." He added as he shut the door behind him. "Well, that went rather well...Perhaps I am not as bad a diplomat as i at first assumed." Deimos whispered to himself as he stood and left the Royal Apartments. Once he reached the courtyard again, he called for a city crier, and giving him the news of the embassy, sent him off to spread it among the people and his fellow criers, so that all in Lumen Ira and possibly all of the Aldari mainland would know of the Prince's call for companions. ~~~~~~~~~ Alright, so most of that might be meaningless blabber for a lot of you, but i put a lot of effort into it, so i hope it is atleast an enjoyable read for those of you with the patience to do so. Basically, Prince Deimos of the Aldari people is calling for companions to accompany him on a journey to gather allies for the upcoming war with the northern armies, and that is where you come in. ~~~~~~~~~ Rules: All obvious onrpg forum rules and roleplaying rules apply. No spamming, uber powerful characters, godmodding, autohits or autokills unless allowed otherwise by the owner of the character and myself. I am not going to be a huge Grammar/Punctuation Nazi, but i would prefer it if you would at least give your posts a quick skim for spelling, grammatical or punctuation errors. Also, All posts must be at the very least, two six sentence paragraphs, although i believe more like four would be suiting. Also, please do not join unless you have a moderate amount of experience, and you think you will be interested in this RP for a very long time. If you are going to take a leave of absence, please let me know or your character will be either killed off, or will be removed from the story as if never having existed. Be respectful to each other and have fun, i hope this RP will keep people interested and provide an exciting story for all involved. I will only be allowing six roleplayers, including myself, so i reserve the right to decline your profile in favor of another, or for any reason that i see it is unfitting. I may allow more later on, but i do not want this to get too overcrowded. And in addition to this, everyone may make up to three characters, although two should be sufficient without getting too overwhelming. BE REALISTIC AND DETAILED with your posts as well as your character. More may be added later. Races: ~~~~~~~~~~ Alright, so despite the strange names i have decided to give the different races, you should all be quite familiar with them. You may chose from any of these except for those mentioned in the Land of the Dead and the Northern Armies, Although if you wish to make a Giant, i am alright with that. So here goes: The Aldari: (Pronounced Al-Dar-Ee) The Aldari is the name of the Alliance of Humans and Giants. The Aldari are known for they're massive numbers, dedicated and loyal soldiers who make up one of the strongest military war machines ever known. The Aldari also has the greatest Cavalry of any Kingdom, though they are closely followed by the Osdegon. The Kairvoi: (Pronounced Care-Voy) The Kairvoi is the name of the Alliance of Wood Elves, High Elves, Dark Elves and the creatures of the Forest due to the Wood Elves. The Kairvoi are known for they're skilled Mage's (High Elves/Dark Elves) and Archers (Wood Elves) and they're army of woodland animals (When called upon by the Wood Elves). They are also one of the culturally richest people, as well as the most beautiful. The Erkutz: (Pronounced Air-Cootz) The Erkutz is the name of the Alliance of Dwarves and Rock Trolls. The Erkutz are known for they're skilled blacksmith's, craftsman and they're individual warriors, for the Erkutz rarely gather for war, and when they do they are smaller in number, but greater in might. The Osdegon: (Pronounced Os-Day-Gun) The Osdegon is the name of the Alliance of Gnomes and Ents. The Osdegon are known for they're brilliant minds and inventiveness. They are matched by no other kingdoms in terms of technology, and some inventions they have made include the Cannon, Flintlock, Matchlock and Clockwork firearms, as well as Naval Vessels, which they have shared with all other nations, though they are still unmatched in terms of Navy and Technology. The Urathai: (Pronounced Oo-Ra-Thai) The Urathai is the name of the Alliance of Trolls, Orcs and Goblins. The Urathai are known for they're amazing Infantry force and tough skilled warriors. Urathai culture is based around fighting, and the only warriors that are able to match the Urathai in terms of Strength and Toughness are the Erkutz. The Northern Armies: (Yet to be given a proper name) The Northern Armies is what the Alliance of Nordic Humans and Ogres are called. The Northern Armies are known for they're massive numbers, matchable to that of the Aldari, as well as the skill and might of they're individual troops. Other than this, the Northern Armies are still unknown. The Land Of The Dead: A large island where the supernatural rule, and where all 'abominations' of nature can be found. Not many who live return from here, and those that do are haunted by memories and spirits who have followed them from. (If you have any requests to add to the list, please let me know in a PM and i will add them unless i don't see fit. More will be added later.) ~~~~~~~~~~ Character Sheet: Name: Title(s): Race: Gender: Age: Weapon(s): Skills: Appearance: (A picture should be sufficient, with maybe a few facts added such as how much your character weighs, and how tall he/she is.) Personality: (I notice that many a roleplayer end up playing they're characters personalities in a completely different way than they wrote on the character sheet, so i will give the option for you to simply play as you wish and make the personality of your character grow and reveal itself over the course of the RP. Though if you prefer to write it all down, here you go, just make sure you play it as you write it.) History: Mount/Pet/Companion(s): (Don't go overboard here, i don't want any characters playing 'Lord Of The Beasts' with an army of animals following them around everywhere. Keep it at around two or three tops, if any at all.) Extra: ~~~~~~~~~~ My Character Sheet: Name: Deimos Leruthian Aldari Title(s): Lionheart, and Blade of the Aldari Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 18 Weapon(s): A Longsword nicknamed 'Typhon' due to enchantments allowing it's owner to call forth the fury of weather, if only in the smallest way. He also wields a short spear. Skills: Deimos is an amazing Leader, tactician and strategist, as well as Warrior, though he knows little to nothing about Magic and knows only the basics of Archery. Deimos is also good at instilling fear in the hearts of his enemies, and boosting the morale of his own at the same time. Appearance: Deimos weighs about 180 Lbs and stands at 6 ft 2 in height. ![]() Personality: I will shape this as the RP progresses. History: Deimos Leruthian Aldari is the firstborn and only son of Loric Virilian Aldari, King of the Aldari. He began his training as a knight, and his studies of History, Mathematics and Diplomacy at an early age, and by the age of 16 he was not only one of the most respected and skilled swordsman in the Aldari Mainland, but he was also one of the greatest Diplomats and Scholars. He only learns more as he grows older and is beloved and trusted by his people. (I believed i have covered most of his important history in the Introduction, but here is a sparse throw together of information.) Mount/Pet/Companion(s): Deimos is constantly found with his snow white Charger (War Horse) Phobos who is not only Deimos's War Mount, but his faithful companion. Phobos is usually well armored and a long spike protrudes from the helmet of the horse, and smaller spikes protrude from the bottoms of the horses shoes. Extra: Deimos is right handed.

Character Sheet:
Name: Neesha Kestrel Title(s): Night Hawk, The phantom/ghost Race: The Kairvoi Gender: Male Age: 120 (( like, "Adult" age or something, 25-30 human years. )) Weapon(s): A clear white long bow, which goes by the name Jenessa "The white phantom". He also weilds a sword which he calls Tacita. Skills: He is very quick, and agile. He can fast learn about his enviroments, and then move quick and swift, with out hinders. His skill with the bow is almost unmatchable. He shoots with pinpoint accuary, and barley ever miss. His sword, is rarley used. But when he does use it, he do it, with silence, and precision. He always tends to do One stab/shot one kill. He can communicate with the nature itself. Appearance: Stand around 5 ft 2 in height, and weight about 88 lbs. He also wears a leather mask. (( Like this one except without the nose protection thing.)Personality: I'll work something out as we go History: Neesha was born, and raised in the clan he was born into. They lived deep inside the forest. It was rare to see any "outsider" so deep in the forest. His clan wasn't the friendliest when it came to "outsiders" and unknown things. Unless it was an animal, or something of the nature itself, it was usually shot and killed on sight. And that is the way Neesha was raised as well. He is to trust the way of the nature, pray and please it. Anyone defiling the holy nature, was to be destroyed. Because of that way of living, he never made any real friends outside the Clan. He was eventually, thanks to his "obsession" with the nature, sent out into the "unknown" to explore, and spread the wonderfulness of the nature. And that's how he came to leave the forest. Mount/Pet/Companion(s): Neesha has a pet hawk, which follows him around all the time. He calls it Blythe. The bird is dark brownish. His mount is, a black "tiger". Her name is Jovana, and is very gentle. Extra:

Name: Skaris Valenta
Title(s): Reaper, Immortal Servant, Shadow of the Aldari Race: Human Gender: Male Age: 19 Weapon(s): The blades seen in the appearance (sorry don't know the name), several hidden daggers, and throwing knives. Skills: He is an expert in hand to hand and weapon combat. He is a skilled assassin, spy, saboteur, bodyguard, and scout. He is very resilient to attacks and is a expert survivalist. He is calculating and always has a trick up his sleeve. He is very acrobatic and adaptive. He also has a understanding of Valenta shadow magic, though not proficient in it he is better in than most novices. Appearance: Stands 5'10 and weighs 160 ![]() Personality: I'll take the first choice History: The clan of Valenta has served the Aldari people for many generations. They have pledged their loyalties to the royal family. They have been known to be one of the most deadly clans to work in the shadows. Skaris grew up learning all the secrets of the Valenta. Skaris was the son of the head of the clan. He has been trained at birth to protect and serve the Aldari royal family. With him being the head of the clan's son he was given great expectations. He had befriended the crown prince Deimos and has been one of his closer friends. During the missions he lead they were always successful. He has been known to always see the face of death on some missions and somehow miraculously survive. He is also very resilient against attacks, not even letting serious wounds bother him in a fight. One time he had been captured and tortured for information for 2 months. He was seen one day walking in the capital of the Aldari nation beaten and bloodied. He walked into the palace and kneeled down in front of Deimos and said that he was ready to serve his lord. Since then he has been given the title the Immortal Servant by others. Has has been held in high regard since that event by many people. He also since then has been Deimos's personal bodyguard, assassin, etc. (If you want me to change this then just ask me.) Mount/Pet/Companion(s): He has a large black fur tiger that can be good to scout with and an excellent fighter. Extra: |
