Soo, just wondering if anyone else here reads it? Bakuman is a manga that appears in Weekly Shonen Jump and it's made by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata (the Death Note guys). It's one of the few Jump mangas I actually read along with the obvious ones. For those who don't know, Bakuman is just about two guys who want to become succesful mangakas. While the idea sounds extremely lame at first, it got me hooked right away in the first few chapters.
I suck at explaining plots tho so I'll just let this guy's video do it for you: http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/vid.../25586-bakuman It's deffo' not a perfect manga as the guy said tho. It has it's fair share of things I detest (e.g. Mashiro's and Azuki's relationship), but I think it makes up for it by having some really enjoyable characters and the fact that it keeps you hooked with it's decent twists and cliffhangers. It's also nice to see a different kind of shonen manga for once. In the end I think it's pretty amazing that they were able to take such an idea and actually turn it into an interesting manga. Perhaps the main reason I like it tho is the fact that it expains very well the manga business in Japan. I had no idea the market was that competitive tbh. There's also an anime coming later this year which should be interesting tho I doubt it'll be nearly as good as the manga. The series can be read @ http://www.onemanga.com/Bakuman/ |
