Choosing what happens in a movie you're watching sounds nice, but it's just a gimmick that falls apart almost instantly. The point of storytelling in a linear media is that it allows the storyteller to put in character development, plot structure and drama where it would be most effective. If you have the audience dictate what happens then the movie will cease to have any emotional or intellectual effect on the audience and will quickly turn into an aimless mess

On topic, this is a bad idea. At the outset, it's pretty interesting, however, as so many games have taught us, none of the shit you do actually really matters. Fable had its karmic houdini well that you could just pour money into to become good, regardless of how many children you just ripped apart outside of the well. Dragon Age has characters that don't blink an eye at you saying, "How do you do? I'm XX", then "I'll rip out your eyes even if you do answer me", and finishing off by saying "Thanks for helping us, I promise I'll save you". It easily leads to unrealistic characters and situations. I know there is that one Futurama episode that basically had this. The gang was at the movie theatre and had a choice between watching Calculon do something action-y, or file taxes. Seemed like the most interesting thing to see him do is file taxes(then again, the voting machine did rig the vote, so that's another thing).

eh.. i dont really see the need to dump a couple million dollars more into a movie for something like this.. and if its a path that changes the movie entirely i don't really see big bugget movies spending a extra 100+ million for something that will probably only draw a few more people in to see it. not only that but in a sequel they would have to make 2 new movies because of the previous endings.

Why make several options for people to see when they can just make a whole new movie with that particular scene and have another couple million from two movies.
And how are people gonna choose different options if they're watching the same screen? Unless they go "everyone that wants option #1, go to theatre #1..." etc. etc. So then you'll end up seeing people running around every 30mins. LOL

If you could choose the ending to a movie then it wouldn't be as twisty in my opinion.
M Night Shamalama ding dong would rage quit movies.
