Default Burning (BluRay) .mkv to DVD

Ok heres the thing. I have a anime movie (Summer Wars) I want to convert from .mkv to a DVD format and then burn it. The thing is, from what I heard sometimes subtitles dont transfer over during the burning. For the burning process I plan to use PowerISO.

I was wondering if there is a way people do it here? I prefer a free way where I wouldnt have to pay for the converter. It doesnt need to be bluray when burned but I just want a decent quality.

Thanks

Well it seems to be a somewhat big thing. What I did so far was download ConvertXtoDvd and MKVextract. Now Im stuck here. What I need to do is pull the subtitles off and manually extract them to ConvertXtoDvd...but yeadont know how to do that lol

(Edit. its in .*** files which isnt the normal hardsubbed.... its subsubbed. Im lost now

You pretty much have to hardsub the subs onto the MVK.
YouTube Video
ERROR: If you can see this, then YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed.

This should help, but its alot of work though.
