First, *puts a flame shield on*.
I'm not sure what to think of the game after only playing 10-15 hrs or so. But i feel helpless in the game. There is some direction for new players in the beginning, but you need to look through every aspect in the game to understand it. Therefore as a player you need to be very patient. After finishing my first 8 guild leves (guild quests), i am not allowed to do anymore for 48 hrs. So what do you do? Speaking as a new player i don't really know. I've been exploring, grinding, and not knowing what lvls the creatures are so, dying. Dying a lot. Now when you die, you don't automatically go to the crystal your saved to. You have to go in menu, then click return. Didn't know that haha, i think my chr perma died or something. Community sucks, period, but kinda understandable since everyone is new. Graphics are amazing imo, but i can't experience them because of my computer. Dunno why, i got a pretty good one. You need super-computers to enjoy em. Crafting is a bit lame to me. Has a depth to it though for ppl who like it. I liked mining, but it can get really boring over-time. Combat, took me a while to understand how to use guild leves and activate em. Really irritated me to see i couldn't fight critters that only ppl with that guild leve can attack, because i didn't understand. Actual combat itself is alright, but it feels slow because its takes time to kill a guy. Maybe cuz i was making a tank chr and not a dps one. But in general it feels slow to me. Overall: I feel the game is rushed and should be improved dramatically. Gameplay to me is similar to when i remembered ffxi, so i dunno. If this game wasn't a final fantasy game, i don't think it will succeed. Is good for fan-boys, but don't expect anything new in the game to blow your mind unless you have a high-end computer to see the neat graphics. Having said that i think the game passes, but i don't see it being popular. Its directed only to a small target of people. on the side note: i think someone should make a thread and put a starting guide for new players or post an existing one |

But I come from a line of games such as EQ and FFXI so this game is great~ IMO this game will stay a live for a long time even with that "small targeted people" And most of the guides are so easy to find on other sites like FF14Origin No need to post here ~

Well I personally loved FFXI but I quit because I didn't want to wait 4 hours to get a group for dunes...(yes I know later on it's faster, or so I was told)
Is this somewhat similar/better in any way? Rapture looks more promising honestly. |

I still haven't tried XIV, but I do want to. Unfortunately, my computer cannot currently run it and I don't feel the need to invest a few hundred dollars to try a game. I'm not sure how I feel about the "no levels" system though, that's for certain. As soon as I heard that news last year, my excitement for XIV's release diminished.
I'll just wait for all of you guys to play it to see if it'll be worthwhile for me to upgrade my PC for it.

This is from someone that hates most of the final fantasy games glad i got to try this out
YOU do not need a new computer or a uber one at all... i thought it would not work on my pc 2 gb ram 9600 gt card my computer is about 5 years old and the only new thing i put in it is my video card i get 50-60 fps with default settings in full screen on my wide screen tv and it looks sooo damn nice ![]() i played wow for 5 years and didn’t think i would like this combat system yet i find it fun and well fast from all the people saying it was slow i thought god 1-2 minute battles not 10-30 seconds its not hard at all to pick up if you have played any mmo out there you should be fine in a matter of hours with the ui/combat i never had this much fun.. playing wow or aoc or warhammer or most of the f2p mmos out there i am buying this right away when it comes out |

this game will stay a niche in american and i dare to say worldwide p2p mmorpg. clearly aimed and developed toward ff fans, its not ashamed to practically port console UI and control schemes to PC. i dont see it being successful, and as someone said rightfully, if it wasn't for the "final fantasy" brand, noone would care about it.

The only reason this game will survive is because the title of the game has the words "Final Fantasy" attached to it. (And the cash cow says?)
-The interface is god awful. I haven't seen one this bad in a long time. -The leveling system is on par with the interface in total crap. It's ridiculous how much you have to grind to get anywhere cause the game has no quests. (Oh it does? Yeah... I don't think so) -The character models look good, But the overall design feels rushed, and looks blocky when you get down to the nitty gritty. It feels as if they took low poly landscapes and tossed extreme bump map textures on everything. -A pretty hefty P2P game for it's lackluster design AND you have to buy the actual retail. Hell, Aion or WoW would be a much better choice in quality and content. (Least I can jump in those games) -Crafting is really boring and is the same as any other mmo, if not lesser. What's it got going for it? Well. I like the class diversity. The musics pretty good also. The menu interface for character creation is cute. All in all. This games gonna flop. Hard. (This is the OB also. Don't try and give that "Well it's only beta" garbage.) If you say otherwise, you obviously have no experience with MMO's. |
