First of all: hello, I'm brand new here.

I'm currently playing RF Online on a private server. I've been playing since the Codemasters-era and I'm still liking the game very much.

However, I'm always open to new things. Are there any half-decent MMOs out there with at least some scifi or future elements?

I would also love to know of a browser building game like Travian or Evony but set in the present/future.

I'm anxiously waiting for The Secret World and the so-far-unannounced-afaik World of Darkness MMO.

Anarchy online is pretty good if you can get passed the steep learning curve.
Face of mankind sucks, don't bother with it.

WWII Online is kinda modern, it's an FPS/war game tho...

Well,it is better to just wait out on SWTOR than goingb for SWG

Type "PBBG list" on Google.
You'll find at least 50 sci-fi "games like Travian or Evony" within your first hour of searching. Some of the most mainstream ones are listed here:

However, if you are a fan of the classic, Masters of Orion, then your favorite just might by Cosmic Supremacy.

Yeah... Empire Universe 2 and Ogame are also very high-quality.
But again, there are 200 games that fit your requirements, so you'll just have to Google through the PBBG lists.
