To this board but not a noob to RPGs. I've been playing rpgs since I began to read. I've played hundreds of different titles and over the years I've begun to look for something original. I've also fallen victim to the graphical nature the FF series has given us.

I don't own a console at the moment and looking for a way to pass time while enjoying myself.

I've recently come across Last Chaos and although I like the game it has terrible lag issues, and I have to start the game over to even try to compete with it. It doesn't feel like a RPG rather it feels like I'm competing to be this *top persona* in the online world by power leveling a character to an unimaginable level. Instead of fighting new beast and new end guys you just seem to run around and do the same exact thing over and over eventually making friends with people you don't want to.

I'm hoping someone from this site has felt similar distaste in the new realm of rpgs and has an idea of a classic online free game that I can play with decent graphics and new creatures to fight. I'm looking for more of a console based rpg type with character then go about doing quests and actually fighting an end guy or a new monster to tackle instead of power leveling to make myself look supreme to someone else...

Can anyone please help?

Please no text rpgs, I've never gotten into that. Just not my genre.
