Can the avatar size at least be changed to maximum of 30Kb?
Its pretty annoying, whenever I make a cool high quality avatar I can't let it stay under 13kb without making the quality less by 50%.

I mean.. it won't do any harm..

I don't see a problem with it. Since we don't really enforce any file size restrictions on sigs, it only makes sense to allow for more personalization with avatars.

Someone with Admin access would have to do it, though.

If signature size is unlimited (Excluding dimension) how would avatar size cause any problems?
Every avatar I make (High quality) is 28kb with a dimension of 85x85px, 120x120px gets me 39kb.
Pretty annoying if you ask me.
I'm not asking to make it able to get avatars that are 500x500, just the size.. in kb.

I agree, because I'd like to have some cool gifs and it never works because the size limit is so small.

Is there a way to host the avatars offsite (like signatures)? That would really reduce the amount of reason behind keeping it such a small limit.

Just thinkin'.

Meh it's fine the way it is.
Although I see no problem with changing it.

Not like we are running on servers from the 90s.
