I've been looking for an mmorpg that doesn't completely revolve around grinding, has decent character customization, a friendly community, and feels fun and refreshing to play. Before I dive into this game, I have 2 questions:

1. Does Mabinogi match what I'm looking for?
2. Is it possible to enjoy the entire story and features without purchasing NX? (I heard from some players that it's really cash-dependent, and since I don't intend on spending any money on this game, I just want to know if I can still enjoy it to a reasonable extent.)

1: It would depend, but generally, yes.
2: In my opinion, this game is not cash-dependent at all. You could be a great player without NX, and probably will be. NX has some benefits, but you can play perfectly fine without them. 99% of the content is free, unlike earlier years where you had to pay to play the storyline quests. But still.
