I like to be guaranteed quality - anything roughly around 320kps no less, and I quite like the album art along with my albums if I were to download music. But for the most part I like to support the artists that I listen to, which is why I usually buy from iTunes - it does me fine.

Most torrent programs let you pick individual files. So you can only download certain song/s, if you so choose.

Anyways, I used Limewire when I was like 12 and didn't know any better. I'm not even a huge fan of torrents anymore, I usually just use direct downloads these days.

Lol at justifiying piracy. I guess all these audio engineers and producers aren't gonna get the money they deserve. I guess spending cash on SM's, audio interfaces, reasonables DAW's for quality production and then not getting paid for the labor you put into mixing and tracking, paying the Album artist, manager, etc isn't worth it just buying a 10-15 dollar album.

The "well, Lady Gaga isnt gonna go poor from just one album" argument is a shit argument. Why, because you're not the only one with that mentality, and two she's not getting much of the cash from the album anyway.

The artists dont get rich off of the albums. They get a small percentage, the money goes to the engineers/producers etc or these artists go in debt. We call this shit Royalties.Maybe this is why some of your artists sell out or go mainstream. Take Machine Head for example a long time ago.

I understand where Ronin is coming from but I still don't agree with it. In this case, Piracy = illegal = wrong. Or just Piracy = wrong. I'm really not interested in the legal aspect of this argument. My take on this anyway.

I suppose it's personal preference for some of us. While most people can argue artists only get a small percentage of the money that people willingly spend in the name of supporting artists, it's still a percentage and there should be some means of recognition for their work - and I'm sure a lot of artists wouldn't say no to a cheque.

I've recently found out a tonne of bands that I adore are having money problems or are in debt, it's not exactly something a lot of people take into consideration. While it's still a small percentage, it's a percentage no less.

I'm against piracy.
