So I'm planning on Buying a New TV for my room but their are certain things I'm unsure of
1:Can all HDTVS double as computer monitors? Is their a certain component they need to do that? 2: Whats a good place to shop for TVs? I'm trying to find a 50inch Around 600 dollars but thats looking to be difficult.A 40inch TV would be fine as well. I'm looking for something that delivers good game picture. |

Most say panasonic has the best panels for picture quality, but I think the other big names have closed in, Sonys 800 series are getting good reviews and the samsung 9000 series too.

ty test eagle good post.
One other thing i was concerned with is TV resolution. If i buy a TV with 1024 x 768 would that effect the resolution of the computer?Or should i try to find one at 1900 x 1200? Does the resolution depend on the Display or the video card? |

I had a 1366 x 768 before and up close the difference between that and the new 1920 x 1080 is very noticeable on text and image quality (this may be a result of the age difference between panels aswell), at further away it isn't as noticeable, I would say go for a full HD TV if you can afford it, with a full hd tv you should never really have to worry about computer/program resolution vs tv resolution, another upside is you'll be able to take advantage of blu-rays or 1080 videos with a Full HD TV.
By no means am I an expert on TVs and their resolution but I didn't find this graph interesting about the full benefit of certain resolutions at certain distances. http://www.lowtek.ca/roo/wp-content/...tion_chart.png Also here's the cnet review on the KDL40HX800 http://www.cnet.com.au/sony-bravia-k...-339303819.htm
