I have nothing to say to you sir. I don't have to explain a subjective topic like music taste

One can actually make some very compelling arguments against the idea that music, morality, "taste" in general are actually not precisely subjective. Not entirely objective, of course, but more objective than you seem to believe.

That's kind of off-topic, sorry.

Hmmm... I believe it.

But taste in music can be completely changed by the culture you live in. There's a african culture that thinks that birds in a forest is the most beautiful music there ever is, while to most people it's just... birds chirping o_o.

Opps, kinda rolled with that off topic thing... kanyekanyekanyekanye

Not exactly.

My dad, to give one example, is a djembe drummer and he's about as American as you can get. He doesn't live in Africa but just by studying African tribal music he's gained a deep appreciation for it, and that appreciation has spread to other musical styles that have not even been influenced by African music.

A more precise statement would be that the culture yr living in informs you as to what music you should like, and continually exposes you to the general favored style. It does not necessarily change taste, but it inculcates it.

Agreed.

I usually don't listen to Kaye though; but this album was an "eyepopper" for me.

Okay, I can definitely understand how that would make sense.
It's very interesting though ^_^
