I'm looking to get a solid FPS fix for the PS3. Are there any defacto PS3 FPS's? Tons and tons of players, longevity (no yearly release games like CoD) and of course, quality gameplay and solid barely-any-lag multiplayer. Too good to be true? Hope not...
![]() Just curious if such a thing exists? I know there are some great multiplayer shooters like Killzone and Resistance and some Battlefield Bad Company game and MAG and whatnot, but I'm curious if there's anything that's deemed to be "must have" status amongst the PS3 community. Doesn't have to be PS3 exclusive or anything. Thanks for any replies! :P

I've heard MAG is a hit or miss. Most people I know that love Call of Duty can't stand it, but then again they all think any FPS that isnt CoD is absolute crap so taking their word for it isn't much. If possible, just rent them and see which you like.

Was Killzone 2 as good as the first? No.
Campaign was fun if you didn't listen to the story and the game is damn pretty but the multiplayer gets boring fast. Its a solid game, worth a buy because it's cheap but don't expect it to be great. I would give MAG a miss, it's a medicore shooter which has large battles, personally I would rather a have great shooter with 16 player matches. You say no COD but it is damn fun, Black Ops is probably the most balanced and my favourite out of the lot but I play on 360 and I hear the PS3 has some problems. With friends time flies by and if you want a break from murdering other peeps online you can die a lot to zombies instead. Resistance 2 is definatly worth a shot, the PVE co-op side of multiplayer is different wish they expanded on it though as it's a bit grindy and there is a lack of maps/variety with game types. TD is a lot of fun though because of the amount of players it does get a bit franktic. Campaign is good too. TBH, for FPSs I load up my 360, while my PS3 is used for blu-ray and games such as LBP and Fat Princess. Last edited by Alivada; 12-17-2010 at 09:19 AM. |

You say no to CoD because yearly releases means lack of longevity, but I'm almost certain that even the older CoD games have more players than any other FPSes out there (except maybe Halo, but that's not PS3).
