Default What is the point of roleplaying on myspace?

So, lately there are a lot more roleplaying sites, and i just wanted to know the whole point of it.
I'm not trying to talk down on any roleplayers, i'm just rather cuurious.

The same point made from roleplaying on any site for any reason, I'd say. Making a detailed profile of your RP character seems like a more enjoyable task than pasting their character sheet into every roleplay you hop into. If someone's interested, or vice versa you can simply look up their character info right there, rather than waiting for them to post it to you.

So, Immersion I guess?
Quicker results would probably be the answer you're looking for though.

Edit: Actually, I think I completely missed the point of your post. Did you mean roleplaying in general? Or just on sites like myspace?

And here I was thinking the OP meant playing role playing games on myspace not role playing on myspace.

maybe being bombarded with spam and ads while you roleplay makes it more fun for some people

I didn't even know people roleplay on myspace, honestly. Pretty sure that pretending to be someone you're not is pretty normal nowadays.
