Default Intel's new Sandy Bridge processor released!

It's finally available! It's available at most online retailers!

i7-2600K - 3.4GHz
i5-2500K - 3.3GHz

Plus five other non-overclockable processors as well. All quad cores, naturally!

Somebody over at Overclock.net has already overclocked their i7-2600K to 5.1GHz on air at a ridiculously typical 1.45 volts, at a low 80C -- ON AIR! That means if you liquid cool it, 5GHz is going to be a very new 24/7 stable record!

Woohoooooo! Go Sandy Bridge! :D

If AMD doesn't come out with something that is a better bang for buck I will be getting an i5 2500k for my next PC build.

I'm surprised at how cheap these processors are for being a brand new release.

They aren't the enthusiast line, they are the mainstream line. When Ivy Bridge comes out, expect some higher prices. Additionally, we're expecting higher-tiered Sandy Bridge i7 processors as well, so expect those to hold a higher price as well.

I ordered an i7-2600K for my gaming comp already, i'm not going to overclock it by alot though. The basic power should be enough for the next few years

Nice. Do you plan on using that with your current motherboard?

the cpu is expected to arrive in 2-3 days, the motherboard in about 1 week
