Well I've been on some of the 'chans and stumbled upon this little nugget of information: The Minecraft Boycott

"Notch has left the many unfixxed problems within minecraft to be fixxed by the "Third Party". He's made hollow promises time after time and constantly neglects his work.

As consumers it is our duty to stand up against people like Notch. People who think they can get with selling unfinished products with "claims" of a better horizon. Do NOT praise Notch. Do NOT sit down and say "Oh he's under alot of pressure".

One man mod teams have made more improvements to the game then he has. It's time we take action."

I think a Boycott of Minecraft is a bit radical and their goal is even more crazy. But it's always interesting to see where these things go.

So ONRPG, What's your opinion on the matter?

He gave us a great game, why the **** would i want to boycott that.

Crazy right? I mean I'm all for better and faster development but outright boycott is a bit crazy though..

Its an indie game, besides his a one man team. Don't you ever think that he has other things better to do than minecraft? i.e. life.

he is not a one man team.. he has his own company now, and after making as many millions he has off of minecraft he could easily hire more people.

and i guess if he doesn't like making money then yeah, he has better things to do then minecraft

seeing as he is making 100-300k a day and has sold nearly 1 million copy's at 15+ dollars each

im not going to boycott minecraft because i think its a great game, but i do agree with the fact that theres a couple community members that push out more features(mods) a week/month each, then notch and his team does.

After taxes and Paypal fee's he's not making that in pure revenue but he's still making a TON of cash off Minecraft. He's also gotta pay his new staff, bandwidth fees etc.

A boycott is stupid, might as well start up a petition while your at it.

If they are serious they should put together some facts and concrete info. Nobody's going to boycott the game just becaus of some vague statement of "unfulfilled promises"
