Besides, this could be a great article, news session etc. Why do the news take silly things as Sarah Palin etc. up and make them big, but not stuff like the ones I have mentioned above? Also USA has never really aknowlegded that they supported Bin Laden. And these are just two of hundreds of cases that the media tries to surpass... But why? These are GREAT stories for any journalist. I do not have the answer. But it seems silly to overlook these stories. But it seems rather logical that any government would try to hide these truths. But we all know that eventually these stories come out... Maybe 20-30 or 100 years later - when the exposed stories no longer have any effect on the society. EDIT: I forgot that Saddam also used American weapons against Kuwait. A fact that not many knows. EDIT2: And no. It is not because you are too young or too disinterested in news. It is because these are hidden truths. If you want to know the real story, you will not find them watching FOX TV etc. You will have to go down in the details like which chemicals did the Dutch government, American government and Russian government hand over to Saddam during the 90's. Information that are easy for any journalist to obtain, but not for people like you and I.

And I agree it isn't your responsibility. Responsibility is a conceptual fallacy in any case - But that's beside the point. I was simply pointing out, that IMO, it does humans better in general to share information and opinions, than to simply quit because you don't have to do it. Quote:
It also completely depends on how you define Illuminati - If you mean Illuminati, as in David Icke's Illumninati, then yes, I'd say that's pretty "luny bin"-worthy material. Quote:
http://www.skepdic.com/ They have a wealth of information, great articles, links to additional in-depth websites and books, and it's always filled with references to proper scientific sources, and keywords you could google for further reading and research. Rather than giving you a list, I'd like you to try asking yourself a very basic question : First, when you're watching or reading something on conspiracy theories, ask yourself if they present sources, or proper research, for their claims, or if they're simply asserting it to be so - This is actually quite common in a lot of cases, and if it is the case, there is no reason why you should take anything they say seriously to begin with. Extraordinairy claims require extraordinairy evidence. Secondly, ask yourself if the explanations they provide for the various things they speak of, is plausible/more plausible than other explanations provided by other sources(preferably scientific ones). If you never bothered to check the alternatives, then I'd say you've been to quick to pick sides on the matter. Thirdly, consider whether or not the person/group presenting the "theory" is credible. A lot of conspiracy theorists try to sow doubt regarding science, but the fact is that most people who become educated scientists are people just like you and me, who took their education out of a desire to discover the nature of reality. The large majority of the academic arena is not linked specifically to any political/interest groups or to large corporations. In contrast however, a lot of conspiracy theorists are blatantly cheating people out of money on their sites, have obvious political agendas and often exibit signs of suffering from mental drawbacks like paranoid schizophrenia etc. But if you're still not convinced, here's another site that thourougly debunks almost all of the recent, more popular conspiracy theories, several of them which are often linked to Illuminati: http://conspiracyscience.com/ Quote:
Again, it's pointless to bring up evidence or sound arguments to debunk claims that are nonsenical to begin with. Just making a random claim, and saying "you can't prove it isn't so", is not a valid argument, and it is in essence exactly what most conspiracy theorists are doing - That being the case, again, it is not necessary nor feasible for me to even consider what they are saying. The irony in all of this, is that it's exactly because the Illuminati claims are so ambiguous(much like religious dogma), that people believe in it. They all commit the fallacy of putting the burden of proof on the wrong people, and assume that simply because something cannot be proven wrong, that it most be right. This is conformation bias, because they never even considered that the claim might just be impossible to disprove because the claim is fallacious to begin with(like how you can't disprove that I have a invisible pink dragon on my backyard). Keeping this in mind, I think it should be obvious how unlikely the larger, more dramatic portion of Illuminati stores actually are. It doesn't require a doctorate, or years of dilligent research. It simply requires of people to start being more sceptical of random claims, and also learn to recognize the signs of whether or not a source is credible.

Second site was fun. Tho some of his explanations are just him randomly calling people dumb for believing in something, or saying why didnt they go into this, when they said that. And then, calling them dumb. Lol. but its a fun read, that does seem to debunk a lot of the claims, but just like the Theorists, he seems to leave a lot out.
Ill keep dwelling into the site, i spend a good hour just roaming thru the list, only got a few in before i realized i hate shit to be doing. I just look at most conspiracies like the blair witch project, or any pov style film. They lead you to believe theyre real, and the truth. But when it comes down to it, its just a fun story to read or watch. true or not, its interesting. |
