Hey Guys. I could really need some help with my laptop. Its a fl92 model.
Problem is it overheats way too much. Mostly when playing something more graphically demanding. Now, it has always been like this with this laptop. I would get it repaired and the same over heating would occure 5-6 months later and then i would have to call it back to the manufacturer. But I figured I might as well learn to clean the dirt myself. I know how to clean the CPU for dirt and dust. But I think it is my GPU that is overheating. I am pretty sure it is. Ive uploaded a picture of the backside of my laptop... so i hope you guys can help me locate the GPU and what not and tell me how to clean it.

Usually the overheating is caused at the cooling fan. If there's too much dust then it doesn't blow air out at a rate that matches the heat generated. I would try and see if you could locate the fan and make sure that the heatsinks are clean of dust and fuzz. I've learned that if you're smart you won't really do any damage to your computer by opening it and peaking around. Get a can of compressed air and you'll be all set to clean out your system. Just touch something metal to ground yourself.
If you want to go a step above that then buy some good thermopaste and repaste your graphics card and your CPU. |
