Default Sets/Reps?

I have been working out for while with my weights or whatever you call them (They have these adjustable weights which you can add or remove). I'm doing 7.5kg per hand now and I was wondering if anyone could explain what sets/reps are, and what excersices would be be best for my arms.

Sets and reps are just organization for exercize. It's pretty simple, for example:

Say you do pushups at 4 sets of 15 reps, or 4/15. That means you do four intervals of fifteen pushups in a row, with breaks in between. Easy, eh?
Now I'm not sure on specifics, but sets and reps need to be carefully adjusted based on your needs. If you're building mass, I think you do many sets of short, hardcore reps. So if you were bench pressing, you'd do say 6 sets of 2-3 reps with heavy weights. For endurance, you'd do less sets, but far more reps, ie 3 sets of 40+ reps with light weights on a leg lift machine or something.

reps are actually doing the exercise and sets are doing a bunch of exercises. like my workout is all calisthenics:

50 pushups 50 situps 50 lying leg raises 50 bicep curls on each hand 50 dips and I do 10 sets of each aka 5000 pushups,situps,leg raises, curls,and dips

Oh yeah: I do cardio every other day, 4-5 mile run, cardio is important if you're trying to be muscular.

* cracks knuckles *

Kuturu4eva and I have had a discussion pertaining to matters like this.

Reps= Each time you do the exercise

For Ex: One bicep curl is one rep

Sets= A workout of reps

For Ex: A set of Bicep Curls (15 bicep curls=1 set[you want to do 3 sets])

For Biceps: Standing Curls
Hammer Curls
Concentration Curls

For Triceps(Big Muscle on the back side of your arm):
Decline Close-Grip Bench To Skull Crusher
The machine where you pull down rope(I started off at 60 pounds)
Incline Barbell Triceps Extension

I then do Chest and Back, but since you want to only work out your arms I won't mention those.

I also drink Muscle Milk(premade, and you can buy it at Fry's market/ Walmart)

EDIT: @Illgamez Cardio isn't important for being muscular. You think body builders do a lot of cardio? No. They just lift a lot/Protein. Cario is good for getting more defined/losing weight

(I am not saying I don't do cardio, I run 2 miles everyday, it's just not necessary if you want your arms to get bigger/muscular)

EDIT 2: Doing more reps with less weight gets you more tone, while doing heavy weight lifting with less reps makes you stronger quicker(Both make you stronger either way)

Yeah you're right I meant to say lean/cut up not huge and muscular. Athletic I guess is what I'm going for like non-steroid basketball, baseball, and soccer players

I do'nt have access to the gym yet, just because it works different here.
I'll try to ask from what age I can go there.
