Only personal suggestions, such as bigger HDD and another case, otherwise perfectly fine.

I'm fine with 500GB, I keep most of my stuff on a 1TB External Hard drive for my Netbook. I just want a Gaming PC too, I figured it'd be a good time to try out my first build. What case would you recommend? The 300 Elite has really good reviews and it's toolless, so I figured it'd be very easy.

Will that card even fit in the case?xD
These gfx cards coming out these days really need a hightower to fit it in there.

[EDIT] I suggest a coolermaster HAF X. Nice case, big enough for future upgrades. You won't need a new case in the upcoming 4-5 years if you get this one.

I'm hearing AMD is behind in technology, should I switch to intel/NVIDIA 460GTX?

AMD is sort of lacking lately again (or Intel's expanding too fast). However, this doesn't mean the performance is going to be bad.

I'd recommend an i5 2500k build, but that probably wouldn't fit into your budget.

The card is 8inches long. The case which Bryan picked is 17inches long. There's no way the HDD bay woul be over 8 inches long.

Changed the RAM, found out the RAM in OP might be too much for the CPU, and I would have to overclock.

i would recommend getting a Phenom II X4 955 instead of the 965 since they are pretty much the same thing, just up the multiplier by 1, if you want to save a couple bucks other then that the build looks fine to me.
