Re-installation has never failed me and worked perfectly.
Unless you are one of those people who has over 9000TB HDD with movies, pr0n and whatnot.

I only recently installed the OS after a hard-drive failure, so I'm fairly certain it's not the Windows files that have ****ed up on me.
I do have like 2TB of video's, music etc but they're on external's. The games however took me long enough to re-download on this hard-drive (500gb+) so that would be a pain in the ***.
