Depends on what you want? Want to be a wizard/High Wizard? Support sage/professor? offensive sage/ bolter professor?

Wizard / High Wizard = tons of area spells and great MATK
Sage = can be a wiz's best friend or worse enemy
- battle sage = hit enemies with books with auto bolt to boot
- support sage / professor = land protector, deluge, source of MP [soul change], soul burn [ouch for casters and champions]
-- support sage is applicable only if you got party, its hard to survive alone with mostly support skills
- caster sage = same as wizard, but your only area spell is thunderstorm

wizard / high wizard = int/dex with a little vit
battle sage = a few dex, a few int, agi and str
caster sage / bolter professor = int/dex with a little vit
support sage / professor = vit/dex, a little int and str
