Just wondering if there are any Office fanatics here. Opinions on the latest series and the departure of Steve?

I disagree with those who insist the show has jumped the shark. Seven seasons in and I still laugh at every single episode. I miss the slow burning storylines of earlier seasons but the writing is still as sharp as ever.

I lost track of the episodes around when Pam had her baby, but I still like watching old reruns I haven't seen before and pretending they're new episodes.

The show hasn't jumped the shark but the writers have no idea what to do with Jim and Pam anymore. Hopefully Steve leaving the show gets the blood pumping in the writers room again.

I don't like the idea of Steve Carell leaving. I'm not sure the show can survive without him.

I'm also not so sure I like the idea of Will Ferrell coming on. The thing I like about the show is that it's mostly a group of unknowns who are mainly only associated with The Office.
If they start bringing in more major stars, even just temporarily, it might ruin that effect.

I am going to seriously miss him. Apparently Will Ferrel is filling in for 4 episodes and Alec Baldwin might replace him.. but i'm just so sad, I love Steve Carrel

Not a fan, mostly because I cannot take it seriously compared to the original. I love Steve Carrell, though.
