Don't really know much about processors but yeah. How good is the i3 330UM(1.20GHz) or something?
Like what can or can't I do with it? Or better yet, is this laptop worth it or not? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220952

Well, I'm no notebook/laptop specialist, but it seems this version of the i3 cpu is an ultra low voltage one and is noticeably weaker than your usual i3 processor, its goal is mostly to save battery life, overall it depends on you, I guess, if you want to spare some battery life for more speed, then, perhaps you should try to find one with another i3 or an i5 processor.
This computer should do well for normal usage, but you shouldn't count on it too much for cpu intensive task. I have no specifics on things you can or can not do though, there is a big lack of informative reviews about this computer. There is also something about this laptop that I fail to understand, while other i3 processors are made to work with DDR3-1066 memory it seems this processor is made to work with DDR3-800 memory while this laptop seems to have DDR-1066 memory, I wonder if it has any purpose or if the processor is simply slowing down the memory.. Since I'm no netbook/laptop specialist and don't really know what you want to use it for I can't recommend you or disrecommend it, but I'd say if you plan on gaming this processor might slow you down, the gpu is better than an integrated intel too, but it ain't awesome either. Sadly, for now, the computer I would recommend you, with a similar price, if you would want some more power is out of stock, but you could look anyway : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834152215 Then again, I'm no laptop pro. I game with my laptop on school. It runs Aion on full settings and x4AA. You can easily use laptops to game, they just have some cooling problems, wich means they overheat much easier. They're also weaker then desktops, but if you aren't running any next gen games like; lost planet 2 or crysis, then there shouldn't really be a problem.

I have a mobile I3 @ 2.26GHz
I can run everything fine, have multiple programs up and etc. Most modern games can run properly as well. However your card seems a bit too weak. If you can spare 50 extra and mind lugging around a few inches more go for this. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-005-_-Product Phenom and card is sufficient to play almost every new title thrown at you. |

Totally forgot about this thread xD
For me the main selling point of this laptop was the 9 hour battery life. But yeah, I'm not a HEAVY gamer so I don't really care as much about that. My crappy laptop right now can run most games somewhat smoothly and it has a single 1.6 processor speed. If I wanted to play some games it would probably just be on the consoles. Although, I would like to know if it can run SC2...

+-26.7fps average is rather smooth, but you'll run into lag in heavier battles. It'd be good enough for singleplayer, multiplayer on the other hand could prove to be a nightmare.

Thanks for that snowbunzz. Decided to not get that laptop but one that's in the same series.
http://www.amazon.com/UL80Vt--14-Inc...647800&sr=8-14 How's that one? Also there's a smaller version without an optical drive and I'm having a hard time deciding which one to choose.
