Inaudible words escaped his lips every now and then, causing her to worry. Then, his body went limb and his pulse decreased to a dangerous level. Panic struck Niola like a speeding bus that had just collided into her, and she began pounding on his chest. When she realized that she knew nothing about saving a dying person, Niola stopped and covered her mouth. Even though Cyr's body grew a little colder by the second, Niola could have sworn she heard him laugh. Eyes filling with tears, Niola studied his face. Suddenly, liquid diamonds splashed upon his cheek, and Niola instinctively put a hand to her own cheek; remnants of tears stuck to her fingers as she did so.
"Heh-heh; I...I can't believe...I'm......crying," Niola spoke quietly into the quilt of wind around her. "Cyr, please don't...you can't die just yet!"
As though some almighty being granted her wish from the heavens, Cyr started to regain consciousness. Before Niola could sigh with relief, though, tons of blood poured out from Cyr's mouth and to the ground. Despite how much of the crimson liquid that existed in a large puddle around him, Cyr merely grinned at her gratefully and stood up, facing the unruly child. Oddly enough, the boy had been smart enough to not try and escape his imprisonment, yet not wise enough to back off of Cyr. In fact, he taunted Cyr, egging him on to kill him.
What came next absolutely shocked Niola; Cyr tightened his fingers into a fist, shattering the structure of the child's neck, thus resulting in his gruesome death. Niola did not know what was more frightening: the emotionless feature upon Cyr's face as he dealt the final blow, or the creepy smile still upon the bloody head of the boy. Unable to bear it, Niola sprinted off to the thicket she had been hiding in earlier and took in deep, controlled breaths; it took all of her will power to prevent herself from puking.
"A-al--r-right...l-let...s -- go," Niola stummered, still queezy from what she just witnessed.
