go hunter then, they are not that squishy, then again you will have to face the "huntard" insults, beastmaster hunters it's pretty good when it comes to survivability, but you'll have to micro-manage pets, marksman it's all about direct dps and kitting, I don't have much experience with survival hunters, but all in all, I recommend a Beastmaster build to level up fast enough then change to marksman and learn how to kite to withstand Dk's and paladins

you couls also go Balance druid, druids have a lot of survivability, ways to get out of snares, healings, balance druids have tons of burst, so if you like seeing big numbers then it's a great spec to use, and if you get bored you could dual-spec Feral and go melee DPS or dual spec resto and heal everywhere, druids are one of the most sought out healers in the entire game

not telling you not to play mage, but they are one of the few classes that need a very experienced players behind then, if you don't mind spending time with the learning curve on such class, then by all means go ahead, they are a blast to play if done well
