It's not like they should jump on 80s/90s rockstar music albums. It's just that...well nobody even tries to make good music Good music: singing yourself with your real damn voice!, composing decent lyrics not singing "baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, oh! baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, baby, oh!" and mumbling something inbetween which doesn't make any sense in the end anyway, let alone singing about love being a 16 year old If it wasn't then just forget what I wrote

How about because hes an idiot faceman for some record company?
I haven't ever heard him sing without all the studio effects. Hes probably terribad. Anyone with a pretty face can be made into a star. Its all about marketing, nothing has to do with talent anymore. And who do you think writes his music for him? I bet its slaves. |

They have made the entire music industry into a beauty contest where looks seem more important then talent. I think if Janis Joplin tried to make music today, she wouldn't get far. Because speaking as a guitarist i've practiced hard to play songs i couldn't play before hand and getting better. Now it seems they're only interested in the looks of the artist and not how well they play, which pisses me off. Last edited by Foxyfluff; 03-21-2011 at 10:30 PM. |

I think it's quite bullshit to suggest someone be judged by how well they play.
Michael Jackson didn't PLAY anything, really. Bands like Rush have made it a point to not just make music they love, but to play very well while doing it. That's fine, that's their aim, but who would know why Rush are excellent musicians unless you ARE a musician? I'm all for being technically capable, but Yngwie Malmsteen is a guitar beast and I'd rather watch paint dry than listen to his songs. It's important to recognise that music has a primary purpose. That purpose is to promote emotionally resonant reactions to it. Now, some get that FROM the technique. To some, hearing a great piece of technical music is joyous. However, that is more personal choice because it came later. I don't like the fact that there are corporate, pre-approved Biebers out there, but if some young teen is bopping along blissfully to his music, whatever. I would always question that taste choice because I think it's inexcusable if you're not a girl or younger than 15, but it's still a taste choice. My problem comes when people who SHOULD know better than to think he's super talented, EVEN if they enjoy the music he performs, start promoting that as truth. Nobody's saying that you can't like Bieber, but when you actually start trying to make artistic arguments, you're falling at the first hurdle. It's like if you enjoy Commando, the Schwarzenegger movie. Sure, it may be just plotless fun to you, but don't sit there trying to argue the cinematography of it versus the likes of other greatly crafted flicks. |

I think his concerts are a great way of knowing when to blow up the ****ing stadiums.
Eliminate those people from the genepool. Earth is crowded enough, as it is. Quote:
